Friendships with Trump Suppporters

Anonymous
I know two people that will vote for Trump. One is a born-again Christian who says he just wants a conservative replacement for Scalia. He knows he won't get that from Hillary, but he might get it from Trump. He does acknowledge that Trump is no Christian and is very unpredictable.

The other is one of those frightened people that wants to keep the Muslims out.

Nope. Your choices are Trump and Hillary. Sorry, I don't like it either. But, if you want to see a real case study of poor judgement and greed, just look at Trump's background. The only mitigating factor is that only screws people dumb enough to trust him. He's a terrible businessman. He inherited his wealth and then proceeded to earn money by buying overpaying for businesses that he ran into the ground. Read the story of Trump Airlines. He paid himself a big CEO salary and left his investors holding the bag. He did this with his casinos too. What do you think he will do to this country?

Clinton is no better. Go read about Bill and the for profit university. Hillary's business dealings in Arkansas are certainly troubling, too. As for judgment, we do not know how many CIA agents were outed on her server--but their are redacted names. We still don't know what was in her emails. There is a troubling gap of emails about Benghazi in the preceding months before 9/11/12/ where there had been lots of emails about Benghazi earlier. Were they deleted? We don't know, do we?

I don't hold Hillary responsible for failure to respond to Benghazi--I think that falls on DOD and the White HOuse. If they weren't prepared, that also falls on them. Brennan held briefings (according to WH website) about preparing for 9/11/12--what was in those briefings.

It takes someone with very poor judgment and a very cold heart to lie to the parents of the dead. Why did she do that? That is beyond the pale of judgment and sensitivity.

Bad as Hillary is, she does have her defenders. But the more you see of Trump, the more you will see just how truly awful he is. He reminds me so much of a former coworker of mine. Thin-skinned, erratic, self-absorbed, compulsive liar. Got hired by a fluke -- they didn't talk to his former employer, or even people in the company that knew him. By the time he was forced out, he had pissed off every single person in the company right up to the CEO. And just like Trump, he made sure he got a nice severance package on the way out.

I cannot stand Trump. But, Hillary has actually done some pretty awful things. Her style is better--but her actions are proven to be poor. She has thumbed her nose at the American people.

The President appoints the IG for the State Department. Further, even if there is not a designated head for an office like the Inspector General, there are still civil service employees working in that office. It continues to function with an acting director or head. It's not like everyone goes on vacation until someone is hired.

Gee, then I guess that part is Obama's fault. Well, now that there is an IG, please tell me why HRC refused to talk to him--and her cronies also refused.

Why don't you read the IG report? It says:

Through her counsel, Secretary Clinton declined OIG’s request for an interview.

So, her lawyer told her not to.

The "email scandal" is such a nothing sandwich. Seriously, read the report.

And, yet she said she would talk to anyone at anytime and encourage her staff to do the same.
What changed? Or, did she just lie? Again.

Have you actually read the IG report? Yourself? Here's the link:

https://oig.state.gov/system/files/esp-16-03.pdf

Oh, look at this tidbit:

Secretary Powell (January 20, 2001 – January 26, 2005): During Secretary Powell’s tenure, the
Department introduced for the first time unclassified desktop email and access to the Internet
on a system known as OpenNet, which remains in use to this day. Secretary Powell did not
employ a Department email account, even after OpenNet’s introduction. He has publicly written:
To complement the official State Department computer in my office, I installed a laptop
computer on a private line. My personal email account on the laptop allowed me direct
access to anyone online. I started shooting emails to my principal assistants, to individual
ambassadors, and increasingly to my foreign-minister colleagues ….85

OIG identified emails sent from and received by Secretary Powell’s personal account in selected
records associated with Secretary Powell. During his interview with OIG, Secretary Powell stated
that he accessed the email account via his personal laptop computer in his office, while
traveling, and at his residence, but not through a mobile device. His representative advised the
Department that Secretary Powell “did not retain those emails or make printed copies.”86

Secretary Rice (January 26, 2005 – January 20, 2009): Secretary Rice and her representative
advised the Department and OIG that the Secretary did not use either personal or Department
email accounts for official business.95 OIG searched selected records and did not find any
evidence to indicate that the Secretary used such accounts during her tenure.
OIG received limited responses on questionnaires sent to former Secretary Rice’s staff. Two staff
recalled printing and filing emails, and only one acknowledged the use of personal email accounts for official business.96 OIG reviewed hard-copy and electronic records of Secretary
Rice’s immediate staff and discovered that other staff who did not reply to the questionnaire did
use personal email accounts to conduct official business.

Secretary Clinton (January 21, 2009 – February 1, 2013): Former Secretary Clinton did not use a
Department email account and has acknowledged using an email account maintained on a
private server for official business. As discussed above, in December 2014, her representative
produced to the Department 55,000 hard-copy pages of documents, representing
approximately 30,000 emails that could potentially constitute Federal records that she sent or
received from April 2009 through early 2013. Secretary Clinton’s representative asserted that,
because the Secretary emailed Department officials at their government email accounts, the
Department already had records of the Secretary’s email preserved within its recordkeeping
systems.
97

She had a representative answer questions AND she was able to produce 55,000 pages of email.

She and her staff are talking to the FBI. FBI investigations are confidential unless there is an indictment. OIG reports are always made public. As matter of course, attorneys tell their clients not to say anything public while they are under criminal investigation.
So, her lawyer told her not to.

But, according to Hillary, she is not under criminal investigation. Remember - it is a “security inquiry.”

And what is the crime, exactly?

Also, the FBI has been investigating for a year. How long do you think it takes to read a bunch of emails?

I'm not Hillary's biggest fan, but again, a nothing sandwich. Every day that Trump makes an ass of himself, I like Hillary more.
