Friendships with Trump Suppporters

I am a Jewish liberal small business owner who boycotts Chik-fil-a and have NEVER not voted democratic and I am a Trump supporter. I HATE Hillary that much. And guess what, there are lots of liberals just like me silently lurking in Trump waters but I am one of the few that will publicly admit it. He will win. The polls will never be accurate because even anonymously people won't admit to liking him or preferring him over Hillary if you will. And it's people like you OP that make Trump voters hide in the shadow. But they are there. And they are more like me than you think. Of course there are ignorant redneck asshokes who love him, and they are the ones who will be at the rally's, but there are plenty of educated, smart, good, not racist not homophobic people out there who think Trump is the lesser of two evils. Sorry!

As a Jewish liberal myself, I am having a really hard time believing that this person is an actual Jewish liberal. As they say, "takes one to know one."

I do not agree with everything he has said. Yes, he has said things that make me cringe or gasp and some of his ideas are out in left field. But, I have yet to find a candidate that I agree with on everything. The difference is that most of the other candidates are not as provocative.

Regardless of his nonsense about Muslims and Mexicans, doesn't the thought of giving Trump the nuclear codes keep you up at night? Can you see him working with foreign leaders? Do you really think he knows ANYTHING about foreign policy? Do you really want a president who calls people names like a schoolyard bully? I guess what shocks me is how people cannot see how juvenile his behavior is. You wouldn't accept that behavior from your own children. Why would you accept it from your president?

Seriously...I'm not a huge fan of Hillary, and maybe you are right that she will be a meh president, but you are willing to roll the dice with trump??? It's like playing Russian roulette with the country's future. He knows so little and evidences so little curiousity, not to mention the bullying, bigotry, etc...

+1, I'd like to understand the hate for her better. Please cite specific examples, and not just "she's a liar."

And for the Trump supporters, please cite specific examples of what, exactly, you like about him. Like his actual ideas, not just his style or delivery like "he isn't afraid to tell it like it is."

Serious question: What's so bad about the country right now? For instance, recently I hear from conservatives how horrible the military is. When did it suddenly get so horrible?

The military have had their hands tied when it comes to their ability to do their job. Read up on it. It is called Obama’s “rules of engagement.” And, don’t forget incidences like the soldier who confronted an Afghan police officer for assaulting a boy. The soldier was nearly courtmartialed. (I think he finally was released) He does not respect the job they do.
And, the economy. Just look at today’s dismal job numbers and the fact that we have not had ONE YEAR of over 2.5 % GDP growth under Obama. That is pathetic.
And, if you can explain Obama’s foreign policy - have at it. Even the experts don’t know what it is.

How does one reconcile voting for someone who wants to ban people in the Muslims faith? Or register them? Aren't these views the exact opposite of our foundational principles of our country? I read somewhere that this reconciliation is similar to friends who are on opposite sides of the prolife/choice debate. How could a prolifer be friends with someone who believes abortion isn't murder? How could a pro choicer be friends with someone who doesn't value a woman's right to make decisions about her own body? I'm a pro-lifer, but my thoughts on the issue are more on the policy. Not the person. I've met people who have had abortions, and empathize with them and their decision to do so. Whether not I agree or disagree, there are valid points on both sides of the debate. This is not the case with many of Trumps views. There is no "middle ground" in banning or registering Muslims, for example.

This has probably been rehashed on here many times and I'm not going to go into Trump bashing mode, b/c its not constructive. I just want to know how others who have friends who support Trump, but who do not agree with Trump's views, reconcile this internally.

Will start with - I cant stand Trump. Not voting for him and disagree with most everything he says.

That said, there is middle ground on every issue you just arent seeing it.
