The first thing I told DH after we saw then film was that I found it quite distracting that he didn't look anything like Han and Leia. He looked like Alan Rickman's son.

And here I was pondering the rouge Stormtrooper's heritage. I immediately went into sibling mode when I saw him with Rey. How's he got so much Force that Ben/Ren noticed? What's up with that?

Who else was squirming with glee every time Rey said, "stop holding my hand!!" Hilarious!

Moments I loved:

The bro bonding btw pilot and ex-Stormtrooper, during the escape

Rey's pushback during the interrogation with a withering acknowledgement of Big Bad Ben's insecurities

R2 and BB, when he powered up!!!!

Chewie! Chewie!!! All. Day. Long!! Every line was laughter. Team Chewie FTW!

Not a bad way to spend an evening. We had fun!

I think Rey is Luke's daughter. I think when Kylo Ren went bad and Luke fled, her mother hid her on Jakku. Then something happened to her mother. Maybe Luke doesn't even know about her depending on the timing.

Just too much symmetry - Han offered Luke a 'job' back in the day, does it again with Rey. She had pretty mad natural piloting skills. And the flashback to whatever ugliness happened involving Luke and the young Jedi trainees (when Ben becomes Kylo).

Leia was a good example of well done fillers. I know she had to lose weight for the role, and unless there was cgi, that was all her- and fillers. Looked good. Carrie Fisher is a smoker and had a deeper voice than Han- a little offputting- but alas no facial stigmata of a smoker= again, well done fillers.

I'm a little tired of seeing that same old Gollum cgi as well. Move on and do something else.

We loved it. I thought Adam Driver was great in his role. Comparing his performance to Hayden Christenson in the prequels made me easily get past him not resembling Han and Leia. I enjoyed the performances of all of the villains for that matter - I was glad General Hux wasn't killed off and hoping to see more of him in the sequel. I'm really hoping Rey isn't Luke's daughter. There's been so much speculation at this point that would be a bigger twist.

Does anyone think Finn is the son of Lando Calrissian? My heart jumped when i saw Admiral Akbar, I was hoping he would say "its a trap".

DH and I also noticed how little Kylo Ren looks like Han and Leia. My theory is that when you turn evil, your nose gets bigger and you get uglier

My mind thought of Lando too, but I don’t really think there's a connection. He's just a token to check the box.

Notice who the Asian leader of the resistance was? He was Junior Soprano's protégé in the mental institution that ended up beating the crap out of him.
