Wasn't clear to me if Han/leia definitely realized that the fact that she was on Jackoo was significant, but the wise old lady seemed to indicate that the girl's parents were dead, which would seem cruel of the parents were Han and leia. I think Han was just reaching out to her as a kindred spirit, and the child he wished he had.
I was somewhat disappointed in: (1) what seemed a lack of any real connection between Han and his son. I'm hoping (probably futile) that they at least bring Han back for flashbacks in the next one, as I thought he was the best part of this movie and I'd like to see more of the father-son thing; (2) the fact that Leia does not appear to be a Jedi. Wasn't it said at the end of return of the Jedi that "there is another" meaning leia? Why didn't she get the force too? (3) Han and leia are basically divorced. I mean, if they can't make it, what hope dO the rest of us have?

Yoda's dying words were: "There is another Skywalker." He did not mean there was another Jedi.

Her mother was Queen Amadala. She just WAS a princess. Not adopted. Luke was the child that was whisked away to Naboo or where-ever.

From what I understand - Watching the Clone Wars will make everything gel. I started watching last night - the first episode had "General" Yoda saying that EVERYONE has the force within them - just some know how to harness and use it. Also watching that episode reminded me just what a bad-ass Yoda is. I wonder if Maz and Yoda ever hooked up. They've both been around for 1000 years - I could see it...

I generally liked it except a couple things.

While DH liked the casting for kylo ren, I think he looks like Marilyn manson and nothing like what Han and Leia's child would look like. Though someone that messed up looking, I could see actually being messed up on the inside so that's a nil sum game.

Leia was a good example of well done fillers. I know she had to lose weight for the role, and unless there was cgi, that was all her- and fillers. Looked good. Carrie Fisher is a smoker and had a deeper voice than Han- a little offputting- but alas no facial stigmata of a smoker= again, well done fillers.

I'm a little tired of seeing that same old Gollum cgi as well. Move on and do something else.

I liked Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. He has a large presence, physically he is very tall and broad, which shows in the movie and I think was deliberate. But when he removes the mask, he still has a bit of a baby face, especially with the long hair. He has strong facial features, like Harrison Ford (nose, eyes, mouth) so I don't think it's inconceivable for him to look as if he was their child. He is very immature, he has temper tantrums with the light saber when he doesn't get his way. When others encounter him having those tantrums, they are not really in fear as if they would be with Vader, instead they just back away or wait for him to finish. For whatever reason he wants to be super bad ass, but just isn't.

Slightly OT, but it bothers me that Leia and Han Mars their son "Ben" rather than "Bail." Her adoptive father was a much bigger presence in her life, for longer, and speeded her passion for the rebellion.

I could see Luke doing so, as in the expanded universe.
