Not at McDonald's or the two ice cream stores I worked in. Let me guess, you're a manager at a fast food restaurant now. |

Ahh...and here come the dopes with their "let it go," "get over it," and "move on" posts, as if the OP is curled up in her bed unable to get past this. |
Then if they were there at 9PM, the store was definitely closed! They were there at 7:55PM, not at 9PM. |
Op again. I appreciate people suggesting other places to get food. I am well aware that subway is not the only place serving food on a Sunday night. However, it was the only place I was aware of that was close to where my son was training and had a non-meat option. So for me, Subway was the only feasible option in that moment. And on 7-11 specifically I’m not sure what they have there that can suffice as a meal. Well for someone who does not eat meat, I mean. Oh and my kid does not like salad if someone was going to suggest that. LOL |
OP here. For clarification, I dropped my son off at training at 7:15 (it starts at 7:30) and then went to subway. Sat in my car in parking lot for 15 minutes talking to MIL and then got out of my car and walked to Subway. |
|
OP again, I'm surprised no one has said that I'm crazy for having my son in this training on a school night that is so far from our house and doesn't get us back home until 10pm. I surely have questioned myself about this numerous times! LOL

You were not at all wrong, but I would have not made a stink either and only because you never know what might end up in your sandwhich. Subway is a franchise. Find out who owns the joint and contact them. |
is it too difficult to bring along a sandwich or whatever from home? Or is that too funny of an option to entertain? |
They were wrong. For customer service sake, they should have served you. But in life, you were the one in the wrong. Why not cut service people a break and respect that they'd like to get a head start going home sometimes too. If you are employed, do you work until 5pm on the dot? Or do you start wrapping up projects at a quarter til and just socialize or answer emails for the last 15 minutes? Why, because they're customer service, do they have to serve you right until 8pm on the dot? If they'd started your order at 7:55, would you be totally done and out of there by 8pm? |
LOL! I'm not continuing to say I'm right I'm just clarifying the story as stuff comes up. Ive already said more than once I asked because I'm open to the possibility that I was in the wrong. I also stated that I got my answer from the numerous replies. I dont post much on DCUM but I do enjoy reading. I guess I also just feel obligated to try to answer questions as they are posed. It's one of my pet peeves, when someone starts a thread and then I have a respone or question and the OP'er never comes back to the thread to clarify or respond at all. Trust me I have let it go, I'm not fuming about this. lol Quite the oppossite actually. I'm having a pretty damn good day for a Monday.
|
Oh please. Np here and there are so many little problems posted on here. DCUM is not a board with life altering posts. If they closed at 7:55, then they should have closing time as 7:55, not 8p,m, and it's simple as that. I did retail throughout highschool not long ago and we always were scheduled to stay 30-1 hour longer beyond closing time. If the employees don't get paid for staying longer, then that's illegal. |
|
OP'er here. I think I have been asked and replied to this at least two times on this thread. typically i do pack food for him to eat on the way home but on this particular day we were rushing before we left and I didnt have time to pack food. If I ignore this question from now on it's simply because Ive arleady answered it too many times.

Op here. You have made some good points. And yes I'm employed and try to get off at quitting time of course. There are those days though that last minute disasters come up that require me to work later. There are also those great days when I can skip out early. |
