Some people choose to speak out against things that don't apply to them. I posted in here because this is an obviously racist thread, and you can tell that by the title, and yet the administrator didn't delete it. I posted in here because I was surprised such a thread doesn't get deleted. It doesn't matter what color OP is. If she's white, black, Asian, indigenous, or any combination of the above, it's still racist to call people white trash. |

Oh, please. I thought you were trying to come across as educated? You sound far more ignorant than anyone using the WT label. Trash is trash, maybe it should called just that. Do you make a mountain out of a molehill for a living? In exchange for pay? I hope not. Clearly the WT label was less of the point and people who live like slobs is more of the point. Clearly you want to deflect from that. But if you want to be a problem all your life, so be it.
People most often do not speak out against something that has nothing to do with them. This clearly struck a chord with you, PP. Maybe you should work on that. No, you should definitely work on that. |
| I am not white... |
| Another poster here and I certainly DO speak out against things that have nothing to do with me! The fact you do not says more than enough about your character. |
| We are days away from a couch and appliance on the front porch. White Trash is me and I'm a comin' to your neighborhood with sheets for window treatments, naked children in the yard, crap piled up on the side of the house, and a few critters too. |

HUH? |
| I have already arrived in your neighborhoods, because I am the thing you fear most: white trash with money |
|
I second this LOL!

I still have yet to hear a good explanation for how this is, so clearly, a racist term. |
| White trash is a judgment that you place on people when you are angry and bitter and believe that you are above someone. Ground yourself and show compassion for others instead of judging. No one is perfect. |
Read 13:42's explanation of the first page. If you still don't get it, read 14:01. If you still don't understand or you still don't agree, you're not going to change your mind, so there's no need for anyone to explain any further. |
Just FYI--that should be "past." |

So by thinking your own property should not look presentable, does that make you trash? Why is it a crime for some one to want their house to look nice, especially if it is on the market. Isn't this the actual topic? Why are people reaching for something that is not there?
Are these the same people who don't want knock downs (new houses) in their neighborhood because they think they should be paying 1962 taxes their grandparents in the same neighborhood paid? So other people should bear the burden for you? Say what?!?!? |
The explanations at 13:42 and 14:01 strike me as incredibly flimsy. Given how vehemently people here are stating their positions I would think someone would be able to provide a stronger argument. Apparently not. You're right--we disagree. |
