+1 More natural, less stuffy. I find every thing the Wales family does is exactly what is expected of them. Nothing is real. Their entire lives are staged and a lie. And Prince William is probably a real ahole in real life. Just like his father super entitled, snobbish, bully. At least Charles came around and mellowed with age. I’m not sure there is hope for William, who never in his life experienced being on the back foot - his father was bullied at school while William was the pinnacle of the social hierarchy his whole life |
And then still chose to use the photo. Um, okay. She totally didn't know it would be compared to Diana's actually inadvertent see through moment. /s It's a contrived photo with awkward poses. |
That's your bias at play. This bad photo is more of the same and still manages to come across as less authentic. When someone asks your family to take a photo do you immediately just turn to one person and do something weird and pretend the camera isn't right there? |
Archie is hanging on his father-- he's got his legs pulled up. I think the picture is 100% fine. Cute. But I don't have any weird issues with this family. I also think Will and Kate's pic is nice. |
Cultivated to project “their closeness as a family”. Barf - everything they do is ugly for the media. |

Indeed with all the grotesque behaviors hidden behind closed doors - until a massive divorce, public infidelity, or a drug addicted child emerge. Then they go into damage control and scramble to take their narrative back - and many people here will just eat it in big whopping spoonfuls. |
The British folk and Britifiles who have their minds made up by the media that the royal family pay off to write stories. People are so stupid and demonstrate their lack of ability to think for themselves. |

The Wales' card looked just liked the cards I get from friends and family. Many families put their best foot forward on Christmas card with posted photos. This is normal and the Wales is normal.
I do not, however, usually get cards with see-through dresses or worse, underwear showing over sagging pants. |
No kidding! Remember when it became public that Kate literally edited her family photo so badly Charlotte was missing part of her arm |
I mean, if I were going to criticize this I'd say that Will has a weird grimace on his face and Kate's smile is very tight, as if she's annoyed, and Louis doesn't look very happy. And all that could be true, but so what? It's a family photo where at least half of the participants do not want to be there, they've probably already taken 100 photos, and maybe Kate had just hissed, "Louis, sit still or no ice cream for you" and Will just wants to get back to the football game he was watching. Just like every family with young kids who takes a family photo. Or maybe none of that was happening, they all were having a nice time, and they picked this photo out of dozens because it was good enough of everyone, which is another thing that everyone does when they pick a photo for their holiday card. |
100% on purpose with the see through dress. She also knew about Harry's pants but doesn't care how he looks. |
In a rare misstep. That's why it was noteworthy. But these gaffes are just how they roll. |
Says the person who thinks messy hair and weird poses are cool. |
My kid hangs on my DH like that all the time, so it doesn't look at all weird to me. |
