Religion has shaped our country for the worse. Christians have caused untold amounts of suffering throughout the entire existence of the religion. Religion is at the root of every societal injustice in out history. From slavery to genocide of the indigenous populations to woman’s suffrage there were the christian’s trying to stand in the way. Just leave us alone already. |
The plaintiffs are Muslim. What a tired argument. 67 million dead from atheist Stalin. 40 million from Mao Zedung. 3 million Pol Pot. Those are just some examples. Mankind is cruel. That’s not a religious thing. |
I wouldn't want my children taught lgbtq+ indoctrination either. And it has nothing to do with religion. |
OP posted on the day parents were asking to be left alone. Spare us. All Maryland had to do was tell these parents they could opt out and it never would have needed to go to scotus. Your rights end where another parent’s rights begin. |
The wild part is that educators across the country, even in very Democratic areas, are mostly using common sense by either avoiding books about gender dysphoria for young children in their curriculum or allowing opt outs to the parents who feel strongly. The district in Mahmoud v. Taylor showed a lot of hubris by letting this dispute go all the way to the Supreme Court. |
And what about the fourth circuit? That they found for Maryland is crazy. |
This! These School Boards are lacking in common sense. See Loudoun County. |
Can I be real here?
I am a democrat, btw. I have a gay son who has known he was gay since he was 11, and he never had any doubt. He’s gay. My daughter was straight, went to college and met many, many people who are LGBTQ, especially bi. Also became immersed in lots of bisexual pop culture. She came out as bi, and even had a relationship with a girl for awhile. She is now in a relationship with a guy and no longer considers herself bi. This has been the same with several of her friends. So, what I’m saying is that it is not a choice to be gay. But also, in many circles, it is definitely trendy right now to identify as LGBTQ so kids are convincing themselves of it. But also, college-aged kids experimenting with their sexuality is nothing new. They are just more open about it now. Also, the more they see adults clutch their pearls about it, the more intrigued they become with it. |
Is having a soul scientifically proven? |
Nope! So let’s leave that for the parents. |
If you wanted to be real, you'd acknowledge that this discussion is about young children not college students or adults. |
You’re welcome to believe that. You’re not welcome to teach that to other people’s children as a condition of their attending public school. Whether you agree or not, it’s a moral/religious question and schools are supposed to be teaching facts. |
OP here. Agree. This is what I am saying. We need to stop allowing this to be a thing. My daughter knew she was gay at age 10. And she still is. However my sister and a best friend in college both experimented and are now married to men. |
What’s the updates? Didn’t they gain a bunch of rights years ago? What happened recently early? Is this about new auto-access to trans drugs and surgeries? |
I am asking about specific instances where teachers are teaching kids this stuff. What school and what did they teach? Someone eluded to a teacher showing kids pics of a man and boy having oral? Where is this happening? Links? |
