Delay again 1/22 Wednesday?

So the poster who knows the schools will delay is a teacher who received a message from their Principal? And there's a parent who got a message from their kid's coach?

Another teacher whose principal confirmed. Delay Wednesday and Thursday.

What are the chances they'll cancel activities tomorrow in short notice?

AMC 8 is this week and can't be moved to a different week.

It is even a message from the future, 2:45pm today.

Well, that’s crystal-clear. “All MCPS activities, after-school events, and athletics 5:30 PM or later are canceled.”

Does that mean only activities beginning after 5:30? Any activity scheduled to end after 5:30? Or stuff can go on as usual, with a hard stop at 5:30?

Hopefully schools and activity organizers will communicate individually on this.

There must be some kind of new weather system caused by climate change that only impacts schools seeing as literally everything else is operating completely normally.

Our MS said all activies are canceled and our ES said all after-school activities are canceled except childcare would remain open. The HS hasn't said anything, yet. Call your child's school and ask.

I’m sorry but it’s the end of the semester and this is outrageous. Grades are suffering. Not to mention winter sports are getting screwed. It’s cold. That’s it. They can okay basketball and have wrestling matches and indoor track meets.

I got no emails and no texts. I have kids in all three levels. Terrible communication.

I feel terrible for the people scrambling for childcare, but if there are going to be delays, I love that we’re getting so much notice.

Also no emails or texts except KAH just now. Every time I want to quit dcum I have moments like this where I feel I need to stay.

The notice on cancellation of activities was crazy. Ours cancelled everything, not just starting at 530, with less than an hours notice.

Super crazy. So you’ll send kids home on buses at 3pm without contacting parents, and kids will be freezing outside houses where no one was expecting them.
