Delay again 1/22 Wednesday?

Any guesses on there being another delay for Wednesday due to the cold?

I would be fine with another 2-hour delay.

I really doubt it. Schools used this delay to check on pipes and heating, I assume it's all satisfactory and now we don't need one. People were worried about buses starting, and high schoolers driving to school in the dark, navigating black ice and such... but with the sun and salt, conditions will gradually improve despite the persistent cold.

I don’t know. A delay seems possible based on the following alert:

I'm going to guess another 2 hour delay. It won't get into the double digits under after 9 am and frostbite is a real concern.

There was still a ton of ice in the student lot at WJ this morning at 9:30 from refreeze. Students definitely need to be careful.

At this point, I wouldn't put it past MCPS to do another delay since our less than 1-inch of snow on Sunday resulted in a two-hour delay on Tuesday.

About that. So many teen issues would be solved by switching elementaries to the earlier school time, and high schoolers to the later school time (middle school can stay the same). The sporty kids can have morning practice instead of afternoon practice. Leave the rest of teen brains to sleep in, to suit their displaced circadian rhythm.
