SC business and SC honors college are both harder to get into than Clemson

Clemson has an honors college too

Is it ranked? SC is #1

No one gives a flying crap about honors college rankings. Employers sure as hell don't.

Must have struck a nerve and you couldn’t be more wrong. Why are you triggered?

If a grown adult feels the need to mention out loud they were in the honors program at college, they’d get the biggest eye roll and lose all credibility. No one cares. Go to the school you want and if your ego needs honors college, go for it. But that’s the end of its usefulness

Clemson is in the middle of nowhere

Who is the "many"? I grew up in Columbia and never considered it unsafe. Boring, yes, but the area near USC is the liveliest part of town with a lot of nice shops and restaurants, walkable from campus. Having said that, my son is at Clemson and absolutely loves it. The town is big enough to have some choices of where to eat, the lake is great, and the campus is beautiful. Yes, the town is small and it's in a rural area, but you do have Greenville about 45 minutes away. Greenville is a lovely city with a great downtown. My son doesn't feel the need to go there very often, though. Maybe once a semester.

Where are their Honors College rankings?

Also, PP is correct. Employers don’t give any special preference to an Honors College kid, though those kids may have better resumes.
SC claims to be #1. Start a new thread if you want to debate honors and employers.

Yeah, very sketch. UofSC claims in its headline to be "the [u]top-ranked public university honors college in the nation," but concedes, as it must, in the body of its press release that "Six other universities join South Carolina in the top group: Penn State, CUNY, Arizona State, Texas (Plan II Honors Program), Kansas, and Florida Atlantic." Willingham tiered honors programs/colleges; he didn't rank them (and he hasn't even tiered them since 2018).

College Transitions ranks them -- https://www.collegetransitions.com/blog/best-honors-colleges/ -- and UofSC comes in #7, six slots ahead of Clemson (and six behind top-ranked UGA).

Both ranking systems have South Carolina listed as a top program and ahead of Clemson. Thanks for sharing.

Why?
University of Tennessee in Knoxville has 68% acceptance rate, Clemson 43%

The Clemson booster seems insecure that Tennessee and South Carolina have caught them in academics and football.

Which of these three teams missed the playoffs? Oh that's right, the Clemson safety school.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but posts like this from alleged adults make me not want to send my kids to whatever school you’re boostering, so calm down U of SC mom.

This is true. Honors is great for priority housing and initial friend group, but that’s about it. Many drop it after Freshman year because Honors requirements can be a pain and kids would rather take more classes in their areas of interest.

VT is ranked well above the others - 51.

Clemson is 80 and the other two do not even break the top 100.
