Have you looked into Ole Miss, UT, A+M, FSU, or UF? |
| I’ve visited 48 states and Columbia is the worst city I’ve ever been to. |
I like you.

| I love William and Mary. It's such a great school. My DS loves it there. Highly recommended. |

I love SEC schools. If your son plans on joining a fraternity, it may help to view each school from that perspective.
I prefer access to the ocean or to a large fresh water lake (SC or Clemson). Was he accepted to any of the Honor Colleges ? Any planned major ? |

My daughter's only complaint about Columbia as a city is that it lacks shopping - like a mall. This is a kid who also loved to go into Georgetown and markets downtown. She does love Saturday mornings at the Soda City market and fell in love with SEC football. We'll see how the next few months go in terms of things to do, but there is a healthy bar scene, including 18+ options I believe.
She does have a car and runs around town a lot, can get everything she needs in terms of food and errands, and is super happy. I have visited several times, and I really like it there. |
Applied to UT (reach) FSU and UF Definitely excited about those! No interest in Ole Miss over any of these 3. UGA is still the final goal . (or California schools)
|
If she didn’t get into UGA, she’s not getting into W&M. |
Columbia isn't near the ocean. Look into Coastal Carolina if you want that. |
| Southern Greek life and frat bro culture terrify me. Also my DD has a Jewish last name. I even worry about NC. |
These three schools are more welcoming to Jewish students than any Ivy or blue state flagship. Have you not followed the news since 10/7/23? |
Which CA schools did she apply? |
UGA is really competitive. Not sure what you're talking about. Esp OOS. |
