Why do you need to “avoid” the issue of its so small? Let people live their lives. Stop obsessing over it and you’ll stop noticing it.

I don't look at trans people any differently than anyone else. What is the big deal? All you’re being asked to do is not discriminate or bully them. Is that really too much to ask?

You’re not listening. It’s not a small issue. It’s pervasive.

It's really not. Not even close to the level of abuse by team docs or coaches. Or even parents beating on their kids and the refs when they're out on the field. Have you even been to watch girls high school sports??

I know and have known more than a handful of adolescent girls and a few boys who are dealing with gender identity issues. It is mainly girls, honestly. I used to work in a school and I have teen boys. I think there are multiple causes and it is a complicated phenomenon. Unfortunately, the R's have demonized the issue and in turn the kids who are clearly struggling along with their parents. I find it sad all around and not sure how it became such a political issue.

Answer the question. Do you watch girls high school sports? You would have to watch years of them to ever catch a glimpse of a trans player out there on the girls team. And probably a few more years to catch a glimpse of a trans player on the girls team without any talent at all.

Seriously quit your whining and spend your time on something that's a real problem.

The boys I know who are struggling with gender are like, theater kids. Not sports kids.

Dp. I’ve been to a handful of high school sporting events in my life and I’ve seen a trans player on a girls team.

I don’t know that many people, but I know multiple people with trans kids.

I go to sign my kid up for a pre-college event, and I’m offered 13 genders to choose from for him on the form. I wish I were exaggerating.

It’s not a small issue. It’s pervasive.

Well, I've probably watched thousands of hours of girls high school sports. It is not pervasive. I promise you.

The WHY is an issue and it’s on all parents’ minds. It isn’t just adolescents either. Every school I know of has multiple kids in preschool and elementary that identify as a different gender. In some schools and districts, teaching young children that they can be whenever gender they want, or neither, or both is worked into curriculum through books and lessons in an effort to normalize it.

Kamala’s last major speech of the election was almost entirely about Trump being a nazi/Hitler/fascist danger to America, how is that her not flinging sh!t?

And what does that have to do with what John Oliver said?

Joe Rogan isn’t where she needed to be. That’s not where Democrats are. She should have gone on left wing podcasts and streams.

The street fight is filling the airwaves with anti-trans ads which I thought was obvious given the topic. She spent millions on concerts. She should have had three ads talking about how Trump wants to be king, J6, talking up patriotism and voting for Trump isn’t that, or even worse for every Trump ad. If there was a Trump ad during a football game, she should have bought three ads. Talk about how Republicans only care about the debt when democrats are in power and we have so much debt now and Trump wants to cut taxes. She should have eviserated him.

Dumb strategy and practically what she did. Kamala needed to reach independents. The left wing was going to vote blue no matter who.

Uh no. Many progressives said they would sit this out, and did, because we're tired of our votes being taken for granted while the party ignores our policies demands yet blames us for their ineffectiveness. The idea that the party, which operates center right already, needs to move further right to chase voters who elected a literal fascist is absolutely absurd. Democrats deserve this loss, and they'll keep losing if they don't start listening.

It became a hot political issue that was low hanging fruit for the Republicans with the insistence that biological boys be allowed to compete in girl’s sports. This is something that in actuality only a minority of people think should be happening, but the fear of being immediately and loudly labeled a bigot by that minority kept many from vocalizing their opinion, which in turn soured those people on the trans rights movement overall.

When you have a biological male/trans woman who went through male puberty winning a women’s NCAA swimming title it’s a problem. Honestly if that had never happened you may have been able to get away with brushing it aside as something rare and inconsequential, but that was monumental in terms of making people feel like they needed to speak up about the inherent unfairness in that.

If it’s such a small portion of the country, why is my HR dept DEMANDING that I start including my pronouns on company emails and correspondence?

Because I don’t understand why I need to do that for such a small portion of the country.

I’ll take “things that didn’t happen” for $100.

But if it’s true, what’s the big deal??? Why is asking people to be respectful of everyone too much to ask????

Not the PP but seriously? It's exactly why this is an issue -- back at you...why is asking people to be respectful of everyone too much to ask????

Not at all the same. There is no reason that it’s disrespectful to ask you to respect everyone. Do you have any social skills?

DP. Sorry, but how on earth is not wanting to include MY pronouns disrespectful to anyone at all? Happy to use whatever pronouns you apply to yourself - but that doesn’t mean I have to play the pronoun game. Do YOU have any social skills?

Except that no one is demonizing anyone. The issue is simply that biological males should not be playing sports against biological females. Why can’t you grasp this?

+1 What ever happened to "you do you"?

Just the body language, the fervent religiosity, the absolute believe in his own rightness: it’s all remarkable. If you turned the volume off, and substituted graphics having to do with the evangelical Christians, you could not tell the difference based on body language. It’s quite something.

I can't watch him for exactly that reason. He practically froths at the mouth and his eyes get that glassy, crazy look to them. He is turning into a zealot for the left.

I think he has genuinely lost the plot. He isn’t funny any more. He is an evangelical zealot now, not a comedian.
