Not a young woman's athletic scholarship depends on pitching on the softball team or the university allowing a trans man to take your place and scholarship because they can't compete with non-trans men.

Kamala voter and I agree—the fact that this rarely happens is totally irrelevant to a low info voter. They don’t like it, people have to stop defending it and not be afraid to say that it’s wrong.

If it happens a single time, it’s happened too many times.

Biological males should not play sports on any level with women. They are not women, women are women. It’s not hurting their feelings, it’s telling the truth.

None of you gave a shit about women and girls sports until it gave you a reason to have a grievance against transwomen.

The only people I know who bring up this topic are female athletes and parents of daughters.

Republican men were bringing it up constantly and I would expect that to continue even after Trump bans trans girls in girl’s sports because Republicans would melt away if they didn’t have something to be angry about. People still talk about Lia Thomas and she hasn’t swam in 2.5 years. Republicans talk more about trans people than trans people do.

Then it's good that Democrats are finally talking about trans men. Trans men do not spark joy in the electorate despite Kamala's beliefs.

this is also false. the dems actually did not run on progressive identity issues at ALL. find me one democratic ad that did. go on, i'll wait.

DP. It doesn't matter at all if they "ran on progressive identity issues." The point is that those issues have gone off the deep-end and Americans are sick of it. If anything, they should have spoken up like Tom Suozzi, a moderate New York Democrat who did not apologize for talking frankly and factually about it being wrong for biological males to physically compete with biological females. He won his re-election, probably in large part because so many *other* moderates are done with this nonsense.

“Done with this nonsense” = they’ve heard 24x7 RWNJ propaganda about it for the last few years

In reality, it’s not a significant issue. At all.

A few years ago, Republicans realized that transgender topics trigger voters, especially older women, so they’ve been relentlessly pushing this. They were totally transparent about this.

We are all tired of their BS.

When every form, whether a medical intake document, a job application, or any other form, requires you to choose your pronouns, it is NOT an insignificant issue. It is everywhere. To appease .06% of the population.

That is power, not marginalization.

I am routinely asked on medical intake forms what sex I was “assigned at birth”.

It is everywhere. And it is nonsense. It’s trying to reframe everyone’s thinking, it is NOT some insignificant issue.

Democrats don’t believe they have to win votes and elections; they believe voters will be shamed into voting for them.

That’s why Trump voters don’t tell anyone they are voting Trump. They aren’t ashamed, they just don’t want to be attacked by a pack of rabid liberals.

This is the part you don't get. 70% of the US population tried telling democrats that this needed to stop. We fought and were called bigots, women were labeled TERFs.

So we did what Julie Roberts told us: we went to the privacy of the ballot box to fix it. Being nice didn't work, so now you get the cudgel.

Np- Sweetums, I don’t think you understand who is actually about to get the cudgel.

But I think the red guard insistence on gender doctrine was one of a few social issues, probably amplified by bots, that pushed liberals into rhetorical traps where they had to deny logic and biology so as not to look "hateful."

BLM, "defund the police," and Gaza are the other big ones. They were inspired by by good intentions. That did not mean the people pushing the most extreme versions of them had good intentions.

Most reasonable post yet.

I’m concerned about the actual people now, considering the level of vitriol. Just because you say “he won, the movement is over”—it isn’t going to make them go back to their original pronouns and put on business suits and pretty dresses. My teen DD has several friends who don’t conform to gender norms and I’m concerned that people will now feel emboldened to hassle them, or worse, when they’re out and about. These are seriously some of the kindest, most harmless humans I can imagine.

Adding fuel of being lots of different options to teens in their figuring themselves out phase is the problem. If we could stick to 2 genders and it's ok to be gay but don't over promote it, that would make it less confusing and easier for teens.

Democrat who voted for Harris. I am for transgender rights for adults, it does get a bit more tricky for me for surgeries for kids, but I support puberty blockers.
I HATE the pronoun movement. My company dove in hard.
We all had to include pronouns and were expected to remember and use people's preferred.
However we have 600 people and no way I am going to remember every one. In emails I often use 'yoi' and 'me' so it is irrelevant to the response I am sending. I just switched to 'they' in place if he and she. But everyone at my company thinks this pronoun thing is dumb.

The promotion came from the internet, not the politicians. And the more the politicians protest, the harder the kids will dig in. You can’t make it disappear.

Ok. Fine. You should be happy and celebrating not letting everyone know how much you hate transgender people. We already knew that. There is literally nothing new in this thread.

They won’t be happy until all trans people, including adults are forcibly detransitioner or jailed.

Ridiculous hyperbole.

Well then what do you want?

- Leave our children alone
- No more forced pronoun bullshit
- Trust science - men cannot become women
- Understand biology - zero males in female spaces and get your hands off our Title IX
- Stop trying to appropriate the word and meaning of what it is to be a woman.
- Stop demanding that we participate and affirm whatever you have going on.
- And for the love of god, stop trying to make CIS happen. I am not a subcategory of my sex.

I agree with some of this but men can be women if they choose and vice versa. That's their personal choice and none of your business.

Also, what's with the pronoun concern? That's a fading trend and why should you care if someone prefers she or he? Address people however you feel is appropriate and it's they can choose if or when to respond.

You're lumping in invalid concerns about personal choices people make that don't infringe on the rights of others with valid concerns about situations where the rights of many are comprised by the personal choices of few.

That you believe the safety and fairness of Title IX is simply an invalid concern is why Trump won. A personal choice that directly affects my rights as a woman is my business.

Are you currently competing in high school or college sports? Which one?

Most of us have daughters and / or use public locker rooms. All issues are women’s issues including this. We will not be silenced by men pretending.

You know it's mostly women trying to do the silencing, right?

False. It is not women hurling death and rape threats to women like JK Rowling.

More likely what cost Democrats the election was the protest voting. Millions of ballots had nobody selected for President and Democrats downballot

Climate change, like Biden and Harris, does not see borders. We are all going down no matter where we live according to climate religion.

What do you call Biden dismantling Title 9? Government agencies allowing people to change their sex on official documents?

This nonsense is absolutely promoted by the government. And importantly, pushed by big pharmaceutical companies, who are ecstatic about the opportunity to create lifelong dependency on their drugs.

By the way, to the PP, no one cares if your teen boy “does not adhere to gender norms” and wants to wear a dress and lipstick. He is still a male and needs to stay out of girls spaces.
