The Perfect Couple- Eve Hewson

I really liked Eve in this and in Bad Sisters. Her eyes are beautiful, although the extreme closeups of her and others in this were just weird.

Liev Schreiber is not good looking enough to be having all those affairs. Plus, he probably reeked of weed. As for Nicole Kidman, I'm just tired of her being in everything that has a role for a mom somewhere between 40 and 60.

Eves “acting” was abysmal. I was so confused until I learned who she is.

Aww. I think Liev is a nice enough looking older man. He just isn’t sex on a stick, as everyone seemed to be gushing on the show.

Dakota fanning, just not attractive. She needs to do some tweaks to her hair and sort herself out a bit. It was to the point of being distracting. And no, I don’t need to hear about how I don’t get it because I’m not an ivy leaguer one percenter, thanks. My husband went to an ivy, I know many of his friends who are legacies, and I’ve been to Nantucket at least 15 times. I get it. Thanks. This, however, was a tv show.
So, the husband, Liev - not cute enough for the role. Megan Fahy a babe and a good actor, too old to be the 25 year old influencer. Nope. Eve - she is a good looking normal woman. Her skin looked really bad without makeup. Her features did not stand out. She was thick in the arms and limbs. She looked god awful in the running scene. You can say what you want, yes, she’s normal. She looked like a very average mom in her big sweatshirt. Again tv is aspirational and she is not. At all. Also her acting was atrocious. Benji, wtf did they do that to his hair for. Already plain and that did not help. Scooter or whatever - come on. Nobody is pining for that man. That’s a giant oops. The husband of Dakota Fanning and the maid were the best. Everyone else just really sucked and made what should’ve been fun so boring.

You sound lovely

Furthermore, her character was deplorable and annoying.

This and let’s be honest. She is thick. And not cute.

What? I think she is both striking (with those blue eyes and dark hair) and adorable. She is not stick figure skinny but she looks fantastic.

I think she's absolutely luminous and who the hell maligns someone for being thick?!

I think he is good friends with Nicole Kidman IRL (used to be married to Naomi Watts) so maybe that's why he's in it. I think they were going for a gritty Daniel Craig type hotness.

Tough crowd. I binged it over the last 3 days and thought it was hilarious and entertaining. Loved the cops, too.

Which PP said that the house interior didn't look authentic? Sure it did. Was just at a dinner party in Nantucket in a place like that. If anything, the tv house was too well appointed for an old money Nantucket family. As were the cars. Most homeowners there leave their SUVs on island for years and years for the salt water to rust. Doesn't make a lot of sense to leave your vintage Porsche there.

The show was a mid-White Lotus at best. It felt like Clue (it was the sister with the shucking knife at the beach, no it was the dad drowning her in the water, no...) but in a not funny or camp way.

I liked Liev, he played the calm, half-interested, stoner trust fund adult perfectly (the last scene where the suspect is carried off in handcuffs and everyone else is stunned but he was more concerned that he finally hit the seagull with the golf ball that he'd been aiming at all through the show).

NK - her face is so distracting. So much filler, so much taught expressions. I couldn't get Midsommar out of my head with the jerky son/husband/pill popper (he basically plays the same, self centered character). Everyone else was wallpaper, including Eve. Yes I knew she was Bono's daughter. And I think someone brought up Inhaler (one of Bono's sons' band) earlier in this thread - they are the musical equivalent of this show - boring and bland.

NP here. He used to be very attractive IMO. He's also much taller than he appears on camera. Maybe they were trying to make him look less attractive and that people only wanted him for his "money". I do think in this show he looked kind of dumpy.

I thought both her and the guy who played her husband were very good in their roles.

I still don’t understand the Bollywood type flash dance at the opening credits. Why?!

The guy who played Dakota Fanning's husband reminded me so much of Chris Pratt!

The house to me just looked off and artificial and new, like a movie set.

Looking at her stretched out, movement free face is horrifying. It is not flattering, was not flattering in the Zach Effron (he looked horrid as well), and I for the life of me cannot understand why she lost so much weight and keeps doing this to her face. She's an actress who needs to show facial emotional expressions, I found myself mesmerized with her appearance. Same thing happened when I watched the Zach thing, just can't get lost in what used to be her fabulous acting. I mean your yelling at your family that your not doing this anymore, your screaming, not one movement in that face. And what the f did she do to her nose?

NK just won the top actor award at the Venice Film Festival after a 7 minute standing ovation. So clearly critics like her acting.

Because a standing ovation at a festival attended by her peers would tell me she’s a good actor. lol. She needs to stop trying to compete with her daughters in the youth department. It affects her acting. Just the truth.

Receiving the top acting award is very different from the long ovations. Getting both is an accolade. Just the facts. lol.

Again, from her peers.

The house is a real house and I understand a lot of the interior scenes were filmed in the house. I’ve been outside the house but not inside. Most of it was filmed in Chatham, not Nantucket, including the house. The Nantucket police station is now a raw bar. I saw the tent on the lawn of the house and other filming equipment last year when they were filming.

I read insides were filmed in studios in England.

They were in Chatham from April to July and had pretty much wrapped up filming. The writers strike started to disrupt it at the end so maybe they had to go to England to wrap up final pieces.
