NK just won the top actor award at the Venice Film Festival after a 7 minute standing ovation. So clearly critics like her acting.

Because a standing ovation at a festival attended by her peers would tell me she’s a good actor. lol. She needs to stop trying to compete with her daughters in the youth department. It affects her acting. Just the truth.

I keep trying to picture what it would be like to be in that house with the picture perfect decorating and hydrangeas, etc. but the whole place would reek of skunk weed because the husband smokes all day.

Seemed a bit out of place. Was that detail in the book as well

I like kidnan but her movie was similar to Isabelle Huppert's piano teacher. She would have voted for any actress in that role regardless of talent

Agree those were the two good ones, the only ones with good comedic timing. The rest was so flat.

Agree those were the two good ones, the only ones with good comedic timing. The rest was so flat.

I thought they were good and he was the only non-American with a good American accent. Amelia and Benji had terrible accents. Benji half the time sounded British. It was really jarring and just awful.

Nicole Kidman was great, she’s always great, and I love that she just has her Australian accent in all of her roles. The entire rest of the cast was miscast and bad. Dakota fanning, just not attractive. She needs to do some tweaks to her hair and sort herself out a bit. It was to the point of being distracting. And no, I don’t need to hear about how I don’t get it because I’m not an ivy leaguer one percenter, thanks. My husband went to an ivy, I know many of his friends who are legacies, and I’ve been to Nantucket at least 15 times. I get it. Thanks. This, however, was a tv show.
So, the husband, Liev - not cute enough for the role. Megan Fahy a babe and a good actor, too old to be the 25 year old influencer. Nope. Eve - she is a good looking normal woman. Her skin looked really bad without makeup. Her features did not stand out. She was thick in the arms and limbs. She looked god awful in the running scene. You can say what you want, yes, she’s normal. She looked like a very average mom in her big sweatshirt. Again tv is aspirational and she is not. At all. Also her acting was atrocious. Benji, wtf did they do that to his hair for. Already plain and that did not help. Scooter or whatever - come on. Nobody is pining for that man. That’s a giant oops. The husband of Dakota Fanning and the maid were the best. Everyone else just really sucked and made what should’ve been fun so boring.

I loved how homely they were. Most people irl and in that area are completely un-hot and blah looking. We'd be a lot better off if we saw this more instead of fake people on tv. I only agree about Liev Shreiber because he physically looked rough, the worst skin, bloated...Not a "dilf". To me Dakota Fanning and her dh were great and the most believable as regular bored, awful people pretending to be rich.
