Bella has repeated said they have a relationship with Nicole and uses her name everyone once in awhile. Nicole flat out said they have chosen to scientologists and she loves them unconditional. I don't think they're close but do check in everyone in awhile.

OMG finally the one other person on the planet besides me who doesn't think she is the most beautiful, best actress who ever lived. I have never understood the fascination with Nicole Kidman. I do not think she is beautiful, and when I watch her acting the only thing I can think of is "that's Nicole Kidman pretending to be (insert role)."

Couple of reasons:
1–Because Katie Holmes dare not complain about it for (completely founded) concerns of retribution. Scientologists are ruthless when it comes to doxing and making one’s life miserable. She knows full well that it’s better to strike a deal and stay quiet than to have her whole life blow up in her face. He is well connected in Hollywood (bc he’s a rainmaker for people in power…even if they are annoyed by his antics and his “religion”He still pulls audiences to the box office!) but you dont cross Scientology without repercussions. This is known by politicians and journalists alike so no one says a word.
It’s a machine.
2–And Tom is like the number two guy in the organization so he doesn’t even have to get his hands dirty. They would do all the work for him. And they will defend him as though he were a god.
3. The issue of “abandonment” is complicated. In his “religion” he can’t stay “connected” to someone (Suri) who is still “connected to” a “suppressive Person” (Katie)—or this puts his own eternity at risk. He has no option but to sever ties with Scientology OR sever ties with Suri bc she is still connected to Katie. An “SP” is someone who is anti-Scientology and is thought to bring negative influence into your life that prevents you from moving up the bridge to Total Freedom. As a practicing Scientologist, Tom had to either “handle” the potential SP (meaning you bring them back into the fold and convince them they were wrong and need to go into therapy sessions/auditing to figure out what was making them be anti-Scientology and “fix” that engram/trouble spot in their thinking) OR cut off any connection to that person and any of those influences that could be responsible for holding you back. Tom could not “handle” Katie back into Scientology and she refused to give up Suri to him—so that left him with no option but to cut them both out if he is going to remain in Scientology.
If media were to run with that story as a “negative” message against Scientology then they would be accused of “religious bigotry”—and no one wants to touch it.
Plus—they won’t get verification from Katie on it bc her silence on the subject is the price she is paying for his agreement to walk away and allow her to leave in peace.

Keep her mouth shut and not say anything against the CoS if they agree not to drag her name through the mud in return. She has lost them to the cult and there is nothing she can do but she always tells them the door is open and she wants to be in their lives however they see to make it work.
Plus she knows she can’t fight what she helped introduce them into and there is no point.
Katie wised up and got out early enough before Suri was old enough to have started auditing and she wanted no part of that for her daughter.

I don't think she's lying they have some type of relationship but it's definitely nothing meaningful. I do agree with you that accepted the consequences of getting the kids involved in that cult. They will always see her separately from them. it is what it is.

Honestly, I have always given a lot more thought about how in the world Nicole Kidman walked away from her children. I get that Tom Cruise brainwashed them, but had that been me, I would not have stopped at anything to get my children back. She could have raised hell in the legal system and in the press, and she chose not to. That honestly says a lot about her.

Obviously, I think the same about Tom Cruise and Suri, but Katie Holmes probably has a lot of dirt on Tom Cruise - enough to scare him into silence. A terrible father, though, no doubt.

From my understanding, Katie had resources, most importantly, her attorney father, to help her and Suri escape. Nicole was largely on her own against Tom and the Scientologist machine. Maybe getting herself clear was the best Nicole could do and when she tried to get the kids out, also, that was completely shut down.
