I would start with a video visit. Could be measles. |
|
OP, please come back to update after a doctor visit.
My money is on HFM. Anyone else care to place their bet? |
What the hell is HFM....spell it out. |
Hand foot and mouth - what people said earlier in the thread. God, even a rhesus monkey could figure that one out! |
Well pass the bananas then |
Op here. I’m fully vaccinated for measles though….is this really a concern?? |
OP stated they have kids--that is normally enough. Couple that with their body having had Covid at least twice and not much more explaining is done. If they are not masking when inside, they can get sick. |
Oh come on, don't be a FYB. |
OP doesn't have covid, no one is getting covid "over and over" more than twice unless they have an immune system issue. Wearing N95 for life isn't an option for sane people. |
Actually that is not guaranteed, it could still easily be covid. Family member took 5 days to test positive after first symptoms. First symptoms were intense intestinal distress. Less than 24 hours later had the full blown respiratory and head symptoms, within 36 hours had a fever. Took until day 5 to actually test positive. So they had 5 full days of symptoms, 4 of those days with obvious/intense symptoms, yet test was negative. We suspect it was because their boosters kept the viral load low for a bit---as in, the booster/vax was doing it's job. Interestingly, took 14 days after the first symptom before they tested negative, so they had a long isolation period from the family. we knew it was Covid by the 2nd day (and suspected it the first day), as they had been at a week long work event, inside, maskless, and there were already 5-6 colleagues who had tested positive and they had been around most of those (as well as the 200+ other workers all inside). Now, for this FM, they had not had covid previously, 2 mRNA, 2 boosters (including the bivalent). |
People get sick. People with children get sick more often. Welcome to life! |
| Could it be strep, OP? So much strep going around right now. |
Op here. I don’t think so-my throat doesn’t hurt at all? |
Have you made your appt with urgent care yet? |
You can have a strep infection without you throat being sore. I once had strep that progressed to scarlet fever because I didn't know I had the strep infection until the rash appeared. My mom said that when I was little I would test positive for strep without a sore throat. The only reason she would get me tested was because my sibling (to whom I was joined at the hip) would get the typical symptoms and she figured she might as well get me tested too. I can't remember if the scarlet fever rash was itchy, but it was sandpaper-like. It was mainly on my torso. Go to the doctor so you can get a proper diagnosis! |
