Op here. He is taking care of our small children solo, which is a massive job. One of our kids is severely disabled. He’s not able to do anything else for me but handle the kids since I cannot. I’m on my own.

Op here. I already explained we don’t live in DC and we drove for our vacation and it was during a period where I was feeling better. We did not fly anywhere.

You might have caught something else while you were still fighting HFM. Travelling while getting over a sickness is never a good idea!

Real car travel isn't a great idea while sick either, as you're finding out. The body is in a state of depletion. Doing anything, even riding, takes more out of it.

Op here. I explained that when we left for San Diego, I had 3 days of continuous improvement and the fevers had stopped and the sores were gone. Then it came roaring back as soon as we arrived in San Diego.

I’m still sick. I’ve been back to the doctor twice now and they are doing labs. I got a chest X-ray and blood work and a urine culture. Waiting on results.

I’ve lost 14 lbs since this whole thing started so silver lining I guess? (I’m fat)

Today I wanted to see what would happen if I didn’t take the Tylenol and ibuprofen like clockwork and I spiked a fever of 103.5.

The latest doc said that they are actually seeing cases of HFM in adults this summer and that they are in many cases severe. Just anecdotal, but made me feel better.
