It's totally OK to post what happens, when it happens. No one is forcing anyone to click on this post. That's why I like shows that happen every week, when it's a Netflix show we all watch it at different speeds and can't discuss it together. |
Streaming services are essentially softcore porn now, à la Cinemax. |
I mean, there's only been two episodes. Give it a chance. |
That's fair, but at the same time, I don't see any character who lends themselves to wit. Everyone is Very Serious. Even Daemon, who one might think would have a slightly mischievous bent, is Very Serious about his naughtiness. |
This is my fear with this show too! I don't think how much people (both fans and critics) appreciated how much it was the humor that kept GoT from getting bogged down in the violence and darkness, more than even the storytelling. |
Exactly. It’s been two episodes already they are still developing the story line. I am afraid it will be like this till the very last episode and then bam! Leaving off on a cliffhanger |
| It seems like a scaled down version of GoT. They are probably spending their money n the CGI for the dragons rather than a wider cast and many locations. GoT had a lot of characters and locations. Each location had a rich backstory and characters that would later intersect with others. This one is pretty flat and ne dimensional. |

* Spoilers--- Not sure how accurate this family tree is:

I liked the third episode. Not loved, but liked. It's filling a void until my other shows come back around.
It did inspire me to re-watch Game of Thrones and it's truly amazing how much is packed into almost every episode right from the get go. The pace on this is so much slower. I think they need to go to a new location to introduce something other than the intra-family conflict. |
It really is, so predictable. Just a pale imitation of the original. |
But isn’t it based on a book? Not many liberties they can take. Was GoT not like the books? Isn’t it obvious for a book to tv project to be somewhat “predictable”. |
| Ugh, I was really looking forward to it... but its too slow, none of characters are really that interesting or entertaining - and the whole crab king thing was just stupid IMO. |
| I'm finding HOTD easier to understand than GoT which had too many characters and locations to follow. |
This is interesting. Also, spoiler alert if you click that link. |
