ICE is merely enforcing laws passed by Congress and signed by our elected presidents

Nope. That’s what the post election polls said. That people voted for Trump based on the economy and immigration. Biden and Democrats had/have disastrous ratings on immigration. People hated Biden’s open borders policy. You have a short memory. Trump’s immigration polices are way more popular than the Democrats’ policies.

And, I totally disagree with you. I support law enforcement, including ICE. I do not support law breakers like the illegal immigrants.

There were never "open borders" - you simply fell for a line.

BS. The border was wide open.

It was worse than that. Arizona and Texas tried to put up their own walls on the border; the Biden administration sued the states to force them into opening the border.

That's quite the simplification.

Any9one who has watched the 60 Minutes piece now knows how much of a crock the OP of this thread is.

There is almost no following of laws here.

It's nonsense to say there is no proper way to do this, and what you are really saying is that there is no constitutional way to do this, including no way to do this without repeatedly violating constitutional rights of citizens as well as legal residents. The administration started off with grossly exaggerated numbers of unlawful entry, including claiming that Biden's TPS orders were illegal. They also convinced the right that immigrants were overwhelmingly rapists, murderers, and drug-dealing cartels. They encouraged the crazy stories about Haitians eating pets. They promised a solution--rounding up millions of immigrants and getting rid of them. Even though they couldn't get close to the numbers they promised, this operation has still required wholesale disregard for the law, including a conscious policy of "f--- the courts." They fired experienced immigration judges for properly assessing and deciding cases (mind you, these proceedings are inherently harsh, with small children at times having to appear before judges without counsel). After reassigning military JAG officers to immigration courts, they have continued to fire those who exercise their own legal reasoning in particular cases.

They have stopped asylum proceedings, even though the law mandates the opportunity to seek asylum. They are also putting the breaks on LEGAL visa and immigration processes.

In Idaho, after zip-tying hundreds of people, including citizens, including children (and threatening to "blow your head off" to a zip-tied citizen mother whose citizen 14r year old was also zip-tied), they detained them for hours, leaving the 14 year old (who was dragged from a car) with large bruises on her torso as well as her wrists. They have smashed out the windows of cars driven by people who happened to be near an operation and sprayed tear gas or pepper spray into the faces of citizens, including babies. They lie: in Idaho, local police who did assist ICE admit to the zip-tying of children; ICE has denied this happened. There is a woman from Maryland, a citizen, who has been detained and transferred to a detention center in Lousiana to prepare for deportation. She is a US citizen by birth; ICE claims her birth certificate and other documents that her family has provided are fake. When they detain people, they deliberate move them from one center to another hundreds of miles away to force attorneys to spend precious time and money searching for their clients rather than pursue legal remedies. Trump has made a clear ethnic cleansing statement when he said he would like to get rid of ALL Somalians, period, even though the majority are actually citizens.

There is no way to rationalize or justify this. Putting lipstick on a pig doesn't begin to explain how much is wrong with what is going on.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says recording or following federal law enforcement "sure sounds like obstruction of justice," despite federal circuit courts repeatedly ruling that such activity is core First Amendment speech.

In response to a question from Reason asking if the department considered following or recording a federal law enforcement officer to be obstruction of justice, the DHS Office of Public Affairs said in an emailed statement attributed to an unnamed spokesperson: "That sure sounds like obstruction of justice. Our brave ICE law enforcement face a more than 1150% increase in assaults against them. If you obstruct or assault our law enforcement, we will hunt you down and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

It's one of the most direct public statements yet from DHS articulating a policy that treats following, recording, and revealing the identities of federal immigration officers as illegal activity.

Naturalized citizen who immigrated from Somalia arrested, asks ICE to check his digital passport on his phone, they refuse, they keep trying to get biometrics but their equipment doesn't work.

Based on an NBC article which also mentions this guy's arrest ICE made several attempts to find people they DID have information on without success. I suppose snatching random people who look Somalian makes them feel like they're doing their jobs.

^^ I actually sound 3 different accounts of this. First was an Occupy Democrats post. I always check for alternate sources. NBC left out the parts where he tried to get the agents to see his documentation. The Independent article was sort of in the middle between the Occupy democrats post and the NBC version. NBC spent much more column length about ICE trying and failing to find specific people and also retreating when a building owner did not allow them entry (so they must NOT have had an actual warrant). I kind of felt they were being cautious given what they apparently left out regarding his attempts to prove his citizenship. Here's the Occupy version:

On December 9, Mubashir, a Minneapolis man who has chosen to only disclose his first name, was wrongly arrested by Immigration and Custom Enforcement for the crime of stepping “outside as a Somali American.” During his lunch break, masked men tackled him onto the ground, dragged him across the road, choked, and restrained him. Mubashir insisted that he was a US citizen. He repeatedly offered to show the men his digital passport, as well as to provide his name and date of birth to prove his citizenship. The agents refused.

Independent:

Mubashir was outside on his lunch break in Cedar-Riverside in Minneapolis when he was arrested on Tuesday.
While walking out on the street near 4th Street and Cedar Avenue, Mubashir said he noticed two masked men approach him, to avoid them he went into a nearby restaurant.
The two men followed him inside, dragged him outside, and arrested him. Mubashir was also pushed onto his knees in the snow and put into a chokehold, CBS Newsreported.
Mubashir began yelling, “I have my ID,” to the officers; however, the agents did not respond.
When he was put into the car, Mubashir was asked if the agents could take his picture.
“I declined, because how will a picture prove I’m a US citizen?” he said.
“I told him, ‘I have my passport, it’s in my phone. Can I open it and show you?’ He declined. I told him ‘can I give you my name and my date of birth?’ He declined.”

Here's NBC's report on what Tricia McLaughlin said about the arrest:

“At that time, a second male individual walked out of a nearby restaurant, turned around, and fled from law enforcement,” DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to NBC News. “Having reasonable suspicion--as protected under the U.S. Constitution--officers gave chase and caught up with the individual, who violently resisted officers and refused to answer questions.”

(What a weird interpretation of the 4th Amendment, but hardly surprising from her)

What Biden and the Democrats did opening the borders to millions of unvetted illegal immigrants was the affront to the citizenry of the nation. They didn’t care if they released vile criminals who committed crimes or just general welfare cases who burdened communities. They kept lying to people about the crisis their policies created while showing zero regard for people or communities that were suffering from their man made disaster.

ICE is following the law and deporting illegal immigrants, as Congress has mandated. I am thankful for a President who follows the law and puts the American people first. Since Trump has entered office, job gains have been going to American-born citizens and not illegal foreign nationals like during the Biden years.

This thread provides dozens of instances of ICE and Bovino NOT following the law and yet you don't care.

So bye.

They have no training, they don't identify themselves, and they do not follow the law.

I thought this is what the 2A was for.
