Why so much hate towards federal workers who are simply doing their jobs?

I understand the emotional sympathy when a day-laborer gets detained and sent back to Central America, but the law is clear: one must follow legal pathways to work lawfully in the USA.

How does the hate, targeting ICE, make any sense?

Yes and no. If that's all they were doing, they would have the support of a large majority of the people. But it isn't, and they don't.

We need to be careful about excusing anything because “it’s the law”.

When people don’t like a law they will protest the law. It wasn’t that long ago that it was the law that Black people had to sit segregated at the back of a bus down South. Police arrested because “it was the law”. Protests changed the laws.

I have not seen a federal worker around me acting violently without provocation. They act like thugs and will be viewed as such.

I don't think it is legal to pull random people of color off the street in the hopes of snagging an "illegal"
I also don't think it is legal to beat the crap out of old men, old women, women in general, nor separate a minor from their parent to gain leverage over a "suspect"

That is not true.

Yes, it is. And green card holders and other people going through the legal system. It really calls into question where all those criminal illegals are that ICE has to round up so many people legally going about their business.

It's not the laws that they are enforcing that is objectable It's how they are enforcing them:

--Treatment of detainess.
--Indisciminate rounding up, including at their immigration check ins.
--So many NOT going back to their homes--kept in detention centers
--Tackling and hurting innocent people and using racial profiling alone to grab people.
