I’m 100% in support of ICE and the deportations. They can’t happen fast enough. Only people “against” are either illegal and either rich liberals who don’t live around anyone who’d get deported but hire them to watch their kids and cut their grass instead of paying Americans or privileged children of liberal parents who need something in college to be outraged about. It’s not an issue for real working class Americans.
Back to the regularly scheduled DC bubble.
Actually, 75% of the American public is opposed to how ICE is operating right now. No one is opposed to people here illegally being deported, particularly criminals. But, no one is for the disruptions and violations of civil rights being employed. Somehow both Biden and obama were able to deport millions of people in the US illegally without disrupting the lives of everyone else. Why can't Trump?
Dp President Obama and Biden deported people from the border where they were flowing across. Trump is deporting people from the interior. These are people who know they are here illegally and are willfully ignoring the law and judge's deportation orders. The next question on those polls should be how many will be voting based on their thoughts on deportations. The answer is almost none. The economy will always be voters top concern.
Are you sure? Did you read the post mortem from NYT that said Biden’s handling of immigration cost Dems the election? |

Read carefully: how many will be voting based on their thoughts on deportations?
Biden lost because he opened the floodgates at the border and was flying people, at tax payer expense, into the country. Not because he deported people. |

Is it "just doing your job" to target decorated military combat veterans while the actual violent felons and gang members they promised to go after are ignored and still roam about with impunity?

I’m pro-military all day, every day, but this guy shot a pregnant woman. That outweighs his military service. |

Looks like the DHS is catching on to how unpopular their tactics are.

Everybody hates them because they are ugly bullies. |

ICE barges into restaurant, blocks everyone from leaving and forces everyone inside to show ID. Every single person is US citizen.

| So when will ICE go after the EMPLOYERS hiring the illegal immigrants? If they cut off the jobs, most people wouldn’t even come (sure you might get a desperate parent hoping for medical care for their sick kid, but no job, they will go elsewhere) b |

Scanning faces is just what Congress authorized, right?

The illegal economic migrants who “claim asylum” all get a work permit while their case is being considered after waiting for six months. The laws Democrats put on the books incentivize illegal immigration. |
That line of spin worked before, but after a year of reality, it doesn't play. Turns out we like our community members no matter their back story. The ice agents break-checking motorists, face scanning at random, and pepper spraying babies, they're an easy hate. |
Targeting decorated veterans? Did you actually read this article? Years after his service he shot a pregnant woman. He was sentenced to 50 years (!). in prison. There’s usually more to a story than the headline. |
They don't necessarily have deportation orders, and such orders are often conditional on whether they can return to their home country safely or whether there are other countries to which they can be sent. I'm sure Trump's tariffs were not just to force economic pressures, but to force other steps in foreign relations--remember, Trump is really not a negotiator at all. Trump has been trying to make deals with other countries (like he did with El Salvador) to accept deportees. Others have green cards, or are in the process of the green card approval process, and are being deported for trivial reasons--one Somali guy from MN was deported because at one time he hadn't renewed his drivers license on time and was stopped. That's it. Others have ongoing asylum proceedings or other immigration related proceedings AND have work permits. Many came here as children. You rarely see cases about white immigrants being deported. It happens, but I suspect no more often than it would if Trump were not the president (estimated 500,000 European, Canadian, and Australian immigrants without legal residency status). Racism is clearly a major factor, and unfortunately feeds racism among Americans (just read comments on news articles about deportation of Somalis). |
Nope. That’s what the post election polls said. That people voted for Trump based on the economy and immigration. Biden and Democrats had/have disastrous ratings on immigration. People hated Biden’s open borders policy. You have a short memory. Trump’s immigration polices are way more popular than the Democrats’ policies. And, I totally disagree with you. I support law enforcement, including ICE. I do not support law breakers like the illegal immigrants. |
