Who will be in charge of Gaza if they do surrender? Israel? Or will Hamas just surrender, give the hostages back and it will be business as usual?

I was initially on Israel’s side with this because I was so horrified by 10/7. But this is just so sad and terrible. I feel helpless watching the news because there seems to be nothing we can do.

Hamas has tried to surrender but Israel has made clear they will be destroyed anyway. So if the choices are destruction upon surrender or destruction you may as well keep fighting.

For those who think the blame lies entirely with Hamas, take a closer look to the terms Israel has offered Hamas. They don’t want Hamas to surrender, they want to make Gaza uninhabitable and push the Palestinians out and claim the land. Thats genocide and a war crime.

What are the terms you deem so terrible? Hamas has repeatedly rejected any agreement, no matter how favorable. So I’m very interested in your view of what terms are so awful that it confirms for you that Israel doesn’t want surrender?

After WWII, the US effectively governed Japan and Germany. It is true, however, that they did not push the people out. They did bring at least the Germany Nazi's to trial for crimes.

It took bombs dropped on Japan for them to surrender. Germany fought to the bitter end even though it meant destroying their country.

Right now Israel are the aggressors who are systematically eliminating Palestinian citizens, children, women, the elderly with their bombs, guns, and denying them food and medicine causing the kind of suffering that everyone should fear. If they surrender tomorrow Israel will continue stealth elimination of Palestinians so that there won’t be enough Palestinians to sustain a country. That’s the goal of Israel and the extremist crowds are dreaming of the day when the last Palestinian has been shot to death.

The fanaticism of the Japanese, exemplified in their typical refusal to surrender even in the face of certain defeat, changed only when atomic bombs made it crystal clear that endless civilians would die if the military kept fighting. Unlike Hamas, the Japanese bowed to the inevitable in order to preserve remaining civilian lives.

Do you think if the French Resistance or the Jewish Resistance for that matter had just given up the horrors of WW2 would have ceased. If it as simple as that, ask yourself why is the IDF protecting and oftentimes assisting the attacks and murdering of Palestinian people in the West Bank where there is no Hamas. In the West Bank the Palestinian people have surrendered and yet they are still being displaced, beaten, and murdered daily. This is not about Hamas, but about Israel’s desire and determination to eradicate an entire people, like the USA did to Native Americans in the 17-18 century.

Untrue that Hamas has rejected any agreement. Israel has only agreed to a “temporary” cease fires. They are the ones continuing to reject permanent peace.
