The news out of Gaza is horrifying. It has made me think about past wars, and how they ended. During WWII, both Japan and Germany surrendered. They surrendered and threw themselves at the mercy of the victor. I imagine when the US withdrew from S. Vietnam, the government we propped up surrendered to N. Vietnam.
Why doesn't Hamas do this? wouldn't all this horror end if they would? One might not like to lose, but they have lost. War is like that. It is horrible and the strong win. |

You need to think a little more. There are wars where the losers did not accept defeat.
