Jussie Smollett attacked

I realize that information is often withheld from police but in this case when they were searching for suspects based on limited description that would have been in. OTOH it's a crazy thing for someone in his position to do.

The guy isn’t too bright.

It was frigidly cold, like record-breaking cold that night. Crime typically screeches to a halt during severe whether. Just the fact that it took place in those conditions already made it very curious.

This reminds me a bit of some girl/woman back during one of the Obama presidential elections. She said someone pinned her down and carved a B (for Barack) into her face. Only problem was that the B was backwards (because she had done it herself in the mirror.)

A report from Fox 32 in Chicago states that police have evidence that the two men arrested bought the rope that was found around Smollett's neck. It was purchased at a local Ace Hardware store. And, that when presented with that evidence, the two agreed to cooperate with police.

Someone reported that they actually made the job easy for the police because they just compared the two lists of numbers and focused on the ones that had been redacted.

Thank God that the police is smarter than criminals.

People lie to cops all the time, so they have a healthy cynicism and rarely fall for hoaxes, even if they tick all the boxes that will bring out the politicians to believe and tweet in support of the liar.

He really did have a whole army of politicians and celebrities falling all over themselves to announce their support and condemn the imaginary MAGA attackers, even though the story had obvious major holes since day one.

He checks two boxes.... gay and minority. Politicians will fall all over themselves to comment in cases like this.

I hope they charge Jussie. He shouldn't be able to get away with this - it incited panic, he filed a false police report, and he did it all to keep his job - a selfish a reason as I've ever seen.

I hope they charge him and he goes to jail. What a pathetic loser.

Screw this guy. I’d never heard of him before and now my impression is nothing but negative. Hope he is prosecuted.

Yep. He went from a nobody to notorious.

His story was just too much. I didn’t believe it from the start, but if you say that then you’re a racist. It just makes the MAGA people feel more entitled now. So dumb. This guy is a complete and total waste of space on the earth. Doesn’t help his cause to just make up lies and blame white people with a rope. Give me a break.

It doesn't make MAGA people more entitled. Entitled to what?
It is actually quite sad, IMO. I think it is horribly sad that he felt the need to make up a crime to vilify millions of people. And, presumably to get attention. He must be terribly insecure and terribly unhappy.

And, thousands of celebrities and politicians expressed their outrage. Do you think they will be issuing apologies?

Oh boy. And then he did that TV interview on Thursday. He should have backed out when he had a chance. Instead, he doubled down.
