Jussie Smollett attacked

DP. I would say odds are that he did indeed send it as part of his plan. Otherwise, a MAGA-specific hate letter sent right before a MAGA-specific hoax feels like quite the remarkable coincidence. But kinda doubt they’ll be able to prove it.

Amazing how many people were desperate to be fooled.

Actually the Jackie hoax was really not plausible. I was the second poster on DCUM to express doubt over her story and the other poster and I were relentlessly attacked for it.

Yeah. I was one of the early posters to notice the red flags in that story and was repeatedly called a misogynist and worse, despite the fact that I’m a lifelong feminist.

People hold on so tight to these victimhood narratives; they don’t want to let facts get in the way.

You are a terrible person and even seem to take some perverse pride in it. You realize that YOU are the reason why it’s difficult for many real rape victims to come forward. GTH.

If you are not the police investigating the crime then STFU.

I wish you understood how badly these tragic hoaxes hurt real victims (in addition to needlessly fomenting nationwide division). They cause unimaginable amounts of harm.

Good thing they are so infrequent.

If you are not the police, STFU and keep your opinions/doubts to yourself.

You’re obviously an angry imbecile. The problem we have as a society is that idiots like yourself are too stupid to realize they’re idiots.

Stop being an a$$hole. You are making it hard for real victims to come forward.

DP. PP seems to believe that we have to pretend stories of fake attacks are true; otherwise we are hurting real victims.

It’s demented, backwards logic.

You don’t have to pretend anything, but don’t foster a hateful, doubtful environment that prevents true victims from coming forward.

Is it that hard for you to keep your speculations to yourself? You are incapable of stopping the hate?

This was a hoax, PP. Do you honestly not understand that?

Yes, of course. Do you understand how attacking people before any actual facts come out creates a hostile environment? Your hate & speculations will keep real victims from coming forward.

It’s ok to just admit that you’re embarrassed you supported an obvious hoax. We know you didn’t intend to hurt genuine victims, even though that’s what you did.

I didn’t support him or criticize him. I am STILL waiting for the police to make a statement.

Regardless of your intentions, YOU are creating a hostile environment that will prevent real victims from stepping forward.

What’s sad is that you’re not willing to learn from your mistakes. Which means you’ll just continue to hurt real victims.

Stop projecting. YOU are creating a hostile environment that will prevent real victims from coming forward. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I would think Jussie himself has managed to do that by making a mockery of people who are truly victimized.

So let the questions start again.

He hired the same man who defended Trump's Cohen. an odd choice given his anti-MAGA stance, yes? Why continue to tangle himself up into any MAGA crap?

If the $3500 he paid to the brothers was for their work - body building, dancing, whatever - what would motivate these two Nigerian brothers to stage an attack on Jussie? It's not as though they placed themselves in some positive light to gain attention - and perhaps fame and fortune!

Why were the brothers released? They were "arrested," questioned, and released. Apparently, they supplied enough information to the PD to free them of any wrongdoing. It's odd, yes. Did they exchange the money for the rope and bleach and then wander back to their apartment? Did he ask them to rough him up a bit - a punch here, a scratch there? If they agreed, then they're stupid. But if they didn't know (doubtful) what the intent was, they shouldn't be charged for conspiracy, right?

All great questions.......for the police.

Who did that? This is too much of a simplistic straw-man argument to make it worth my time to respond. Sorry.

Who did that? Countless posts on here and the political thread.

YOU are creating a hostile environment that will prevent real victims from coming forward.

There was enough info from day one to be skeptical of Smollett’s claims. Maybe you’re just gullible or not very smart. Regardless, you shouldn’t blame others just because you can’t pick up on these things as quickly as they can.

Sure - who wasn't skeptical? But there is being skeptical and waiting to see what happens. And then there is being hateful and trying to tear down every aspect of the story. Go back and re-read these threads. So much hate, so much doubt. Such a hostile environment.

Racist pig.

My friend texted me to say I was right all along. She is baffled by Smollett's actions.

This whole situation has been damaging on many levels: increasing the racial division, making a mockery of real victims, victim-blaming . . . not to mention the time and money wasted on this case.

The Greeks were right; hubris is a killer. Maybe Smollett needs to read more.

Yes, please tell us more about how Neeson is being "brutally honest". It doesn't make you sound racist at all.

I've already answered that. You can find my response if you're not bright enough to understand that brutal honesty doesn't absolve you of racist tendencies.

But keep calling me racist, genius. I really don't care.

DP. I would say odds are that he did indeed send it as part of his plan. Otherwise, a MAGA-specific hate letter sent right before a MAGA-specific hoax feels like quite the remarkable coincidence. But kinda doubt they’ll be able to prove it.

My thinking is the police have already made the connection with the letter and the brothers who were arrested.
I have little doubt that they were directed to send that as well. Considering the evidence they took from their apt., I think the police can indeed prove it.

Oh I just realized the FBI is helping on the case too since it’s a federal offense. Yeah you’re right. They’re probably going to be able to bust him for that too.

By the way, did you see that he called himself the “gay Tupac” at his concert after the “attack.” What a terrible person.
