My friend texted me to say I was right all along. She is baffled by Smollett's actions.

This whole situation has been damaging on many levels: increasing the racial division, making a mockery of real victims, victim-blaming . . . not to mention the time and money wasted on this case.

The Greeks were right; hubris is a killer. Maybe Smollett needs to read more.
