Girl Raped at Rockville HS

This is appropriately becomming political. MCPS is all about politics and covering up its failures. The achivement gap will close little if any. A whole new shift in the administration needs to occur.

The best place is a Rockville HS since this has never happened before and everybody will be on high alert.

No place in moco unless they change the policy of letting illegal immigrant adults attend a public high school.

Actually, every place in montgomery county is great. Just like everywhere bad crimes happen and it's shocking., because it is so RARE. But the sky is not falling.

We need to stop illegal immigrants from coming here and registering in our schools with no questions asked. As a parent of a special needs kid, it is especially galling to me to have to fight for services while illegal immigrants just roll up, register and fill up our classrooms and get special services w/o the fight I have to go through. I eventually pulled my kid from MCPS. This is messed up.

Did you grow up here? This is nothing new to MCPS. This has nothing to do with immigrants, especially illegals. This stuff happens with white upper class kids as well. The difference is it is often unreported or swept under the table. Good for this young woman for speaking up. This has nothing to do with SN kids or even immigration. What it has to do with is it shows we need more security at our schools from guards to camera's to keep our kids safe. We need metal detectors too.

I have a SN kid too. We choose private and have always done private services to make sure our child has what he needed. It sucks and its life. But, blaming illegals has nothing to do with SN and they are two very separate issues.

I support immigration. I'm Jewish and my family had to run during the holocaust. It was sad the US would not take our families in and many died because of it. The same for many folks trying to flee today. If you look at the news about what is really going on in these countries where they are being leveled daily with bombs, we should be taking more of these people in so their kids can have the lives they deserve and become productive citizens.

I fail to see how you can address PP's concern if you've always done private. That's an elitist view that trivializes PP's issues.

I am a product of private and public (MCPS). My daughter attended private until we moved. My son has always been a public school student. I would never say to anyone that this is "nothing new to MCPS." Yes, it is. While the girls were dealing and doing cocaine at my hoity private, they were getting high on weed at my public.

but instances of rape? of horrible gang activity? of crime in the schools? no - none of that

I am first generation, and my mother, who's still living, was an enthusiastic Democrat until this election when she refused to vote for either candidate. After she heard of the Rockville rape, she was beside herself and worried sick for my own two kids.

This happens more often than not. know why I can say this? b/c I'm a PS teacher.

It's getting worse and worse.

So please don't speak for others who are part of the public system b/c you don't have the experience to chime in if you're paying for private.

We are in public. We could not afford to maintain private and private services. I grew up in MCPS and know how terrible it is. Drugs, rape and other stuff were ramped when I went to MCPS. It just wasn't talked about. MCPS has been a nightmare for us.

Plenty of schools in this area are having issues with sex abuse allegations. Its not just Rockville.

Drug bust at WJ: http://robertdyer.blogspot.com/2017/03/drug-bust-at-walter-johnson-hs-vehicle.html

Other sexual offense at BCC: http://robertdyer.blogspot.com/2017/03/sex-offense-at-bcc-hs-theft-on.html

Assault at BCC: http://robertdyer.blogspot.com/2017/02/assault-at-bcc-hs-burglary-in-kenwood.html

These are just a few. I knew of rapes and other stuff happening at school. No one talked about it as the girls were too scared of the repercussions. This is nothing new. There is more than weed at our schools.

This is completely about immigration - ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Legal immigrants are welcome to apply and come to our country if they do it the right way. Please don't confuse the outrage at illegal immigration with those of us who are supportive of those trying to make a new life for themselves through the proper channels. Either way, children do not deserve to be raped because they are forced to go to school with men here in the country illegally.

No it is not. It is about exploiting 1 case for your political gain.

YOU ARE EXPLOITING A RAPE VICTIM. YOU! YOU MAKE ME SICK!

And you make me sick for expecting my children to go to school in an unsafe environment all for the sake of political correctness. I will not have my kids be the guinea pigs of this agenda. No one is exploiting this victim. You are putting your head in the sand about what is actually going on. Unless we wake up as a community and stop this, it will continue to get worse.

I can, I'm a teacher in Montgomery County and i have seen teachers and other students, including myself, threatened with our lives on a daily basis by our lovely illegal community. A lot of these students are gang members and even when we try to remove them for our safety the County, who are afraid of the parents and Casa community, sides with the trouble every time. I would not put my child in a MCPS for any amount of money at this point. You have administrators and teachers and students running scared of these people, truly afraid for their lives. Why can't you comprehend that this is not a positive situation for our children and teachers to be in?

Did you read all the articles? Did you see the police report? Did you hear the judge say the attached was a flight risk?

This is not about 'not being white'. You are projecting your own prejudice here.

This. Let's stop pretending that the correlation between Central American immigrants and the rise of MS-13 here is a mystery. It's not racist, it's a fact, and pretending the issue away will not reduce crime rates. Also, statistically, the victim was likely of minority race and she deserves as much outrage as if this had happened at a W school.

Exactly. She likely was Latina. And what if it's discovered that her family is illegal? I can just here Trump saying, "We should not pay for her to recover in this country." It is so f*#^*d up. Obama would have deported and it would not have even made the papers.

Unlikely she was Latina. According to the police report, at times she stated they spoke in Spanish between each other (the 2 perpetrators) and if she knew Spanish, she'd instead state what they said.

Every Latino can't speak Spanish...

Wasn't the connection to SN @ $? That citizens and legal residents can't get services their kids need while $ is spent freely to send violent adults here illegally to 9th grade?

Teachers and folks working in the system - where do the funds come from? Are there federal funds or is it the same limited budget?

You sound like the one jumping on the bandwagon of those with no common sense. Google crimes committed by illegals:

- The percentage of illegals committing the number of crimes are as follows, according to Fox News:

13.6 percent of those sentenced for all committed crimes in the country
12 percent of murder sentences
16 percent of trafficking sentences

- Illegal immigrants accounted for nearly 75 percent of federal drug sentences in 2014. This is according to the United States Sentencing Commission, which also found that illegals were involved in nearly 17 percent of drug-trafficking sentences and over 33 percent of federal sentences overall.

- Of the 61,529 criminal cases initiated by federal prosecutors last fiscal year, more than 40%—or 24,746—were filed in court districts neighboring the Mexican border. This includes Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California, Western Texas and Southern Texas. The two Texas districts each had more than double the convictions of all four federal court districts in the state of New York combined, according to the DOJ report. The Western Texas District had the nation’s heaviest crime flow, with 6,341 cases filed by the feds. In Southern Texas 6,130 cases were filed, 4,848 in Southern California, 3,889 in New Mexico and 3,538 in Arizona.

- Not surprisingly, most of the offenses were immigration related. In fact, 38.6% of all federal cases (23,744) filed last year involved immigration, the DOJ report confirms. Nearly 22% (13,383) were drug related, 19.7% (12,123) were violent crimes and 10.2% (6,300) involved white-collar offenses that include a full range of frauds committed by business and government professionals. This is hardly earth-shattering news in fact, the nation’s southern border region has for years been known for its high crime rate compared to the rest of the country.

- There were 68.57 illegal aliens imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in Arizona, compared to 54.06 citizens and legal noncitizens imprisoned for every 100,000 citizens and legal noncitizens.
There were 97.2 illegals imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in California, compared to 74.1 citizens and legal noncitizens imprisoned per 100,000 citizen and legal noncitizens.
There were 54.85 illegals imprisoned for every 100,00 illegals in Florida, compared to 67.8 legal immigrants imprisoned for every 100,000 legal immigrants.
There were 168.75 illegals imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in New York, compared to 48.12 legal immigrants imprisoned for every 100,000 legal immigrants.
There were 54.54 illegals imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in Texas, compared to 65.43 legal immigrants.

But go ahead and applaud MoCo for welcoming all people with open arms here regardless of immigration status. I'm sure this was just a one time case and the rest of the statistics around the country won't ever happen in MoCo....

Quick poll: How many of you who are rolling out the red carpet for the illegals to attend our public schools have kids actually attending those public schools?

You know, Moco has quite a transparent look into their crime reports. You ever just scroll through the names? [url]https://data.montgomerycountymd.gov/Public-Safety/Daily-Arrests/xhwt-7h2h/data

Your kid is in private school. Do you think I'm going to take your comments seriously?

I support LEGAL immigration. I am a LEGAL immigrant and know what it's like to go through the tedious, frustrating process. I do not support illegal immigration. There is a difference.

Work on changing the laws to make it easier to immigrate legally, but don't compare the immigrants coming to MoCo currently to Jews during the holocaust. That's a stretch.
