How to age like Gwyneth Paltrow?

How old? Her looks is also her body. So...?

I completely disagree with the PP saying Andie Macdowell doens't rock the grey look. I love it!! That's how I want to be. I'm 33, my mom is 70 now, and still bleaches her hair blonde. I think at that age I'm going to be doing everything I can to have HEALTHY hair -- bleaching/dying/overprocessing makes it brittle. Andi looks like a role model to me now Would love to have the confidence to rock my aging body and hair naturally!

Regarding GP and other celebrities... Come on. If you had $500,000+ a year to spend on beauty products/treatments/fillers alone you'd look just as good if not better than them. And by better I mean in the context of this whole "let's pretend we're not aging" ideal everyone seems to have. It's so dumb to me. They could be crumbling in the inside, injecting themselves with all kinds of toxins, unhappy, spending never-ending increasing amounts on vanity... so not an ideal to me!

I used to be compared to Nicole Kidman (when I was way younger- before kids, thinner, etc.!) and now when I see Nicole Kidman I'm glad I don't get that comparison anymore. She looks horrible. She's frozen/stretched her face in so many ways she actually looks older than she is. I was actually surprised when I googled her just now and saw she's only 54 -- I was sure she was in her 60s and maybe closer to my mom's age. Sometimes the whole plastic surgery/filler regimen actually makes someone look older than if they just cared for their beautiful, wrinkled skin but didn't try to flatten/puff it up in so many ways.

Also, related to GP... One quote I remember hearing is that a little fat actually makes you age more beautifully. Meaning, some of these women in their 50s-70s who maintain strict thinness actually have faces with more sagging skin and visible wrinkles than women who might be a bit more average weight (and if they manage stress, eat well, etc., like others here have posted). I totally believe that. When I think of average older women I know, I think they're aging way better than women who try exceedingly to be rail-thin.

What toll? She is 48 and she looks her age or younger.

She looks extremely haggard. What 48 year olds are you hanging out with?

Yes. And. I read that she has used fillers in her cheeks and lips. She has also undergone laser resurfacing on the face. In some photos this gives her a red face. She continues to have lots of work done.

GP has never been my fave look but it’s funny women on this forum think they can ‘age like her’.

Babe…highly doubt you looked like Gwyneth you were 22 so no…you aren’t going to age like her either.

One key to aging well? Being naturally beautiful when you were young

It depends. Personally, I don’t think so. The women I know who were young & beautiful did not put in the work to maintain their looks. They just never had to. Whereas the slightly above average ones look best IMO, because they always had to compensate with some effort.

As for GP, I think a lot of people can age better if they don’t gain weight or suntan. For someone that works out 12 hours a week anyway, I don’t find her remarkable, and she carries a lot in the midsection.

He is a former smoker and eats dessert frequently (though generally has healthy habits), but he lets stuff roll off his back and I think that's why he's aged well. His younger brother looks 45 and is in his 30s because he's the opposite

No one hear will want to hear this, but I agree.

I have aged much better than my mother at my age, and also avoided the middle age weight gain she experienced, and I honestly think it's because I go to therapy and learned to process feelings. I know that sounds new agey, but I saw up close how stress, emotional repression, probably unprocessed trauma, all impacted my mom's health, weight, and specifically her relationship to both food and exercise. I think I've avoided it because I have better mental health and that makes eating decently and getting exercise a lot more straightforward (and maybe more effective?) for me.

i don't think it's that new age-y. stress is inflammatory (you release cytokines, cortisol goes up, etc). these things affect our appearance, such as enhancing collagen degradation.

This is why people who have children age so much worse than those who remain childfree. You can't control whether you were born into a life of privilege and lack of trauma, but you do have control over your reproduction choices.

How does she keep her neck and jaw so tight?

I wonder each time I see her picture!
I have to say I'm not a fan of her cheek implants/ fillers, what ever they are. She never had meaty cheeks, makes no sense that her face would have prominent cheeks now. I always thought she had rare noble features and now her face just rings "milkmaid", especially without makeup.

Great body of course and looking healthy and relaxed. How much better anyone can really look at that age without hair and make up on call?!

Duh. Mini lower facelift. Celebs do this in their 40s. It does not change the shape of face or look pulled.

It's not "duh" because I've never seen anyone who would do lower facelift and stop doing botox. Have you?

I think it's a brilliant idea. It goes with her natural style (visually, of course), but her neck will age slower other women's. She will still look better and more natural than all those hard core plastic surgery lovers, since she'll never look fake. After a certain age they all look like Joan Rivers, one way or another.

The thing that's the most accessible to you or me as non-rich people is the physical fitness element. Being physically active, including doing strength training, will do so much for how you look and feel. And it's unlikely to go horribly wrong. And, seeing what my body can do, I care a bit less about the parts of aging that I can't control.

She looks like a skeleton here and her lips are so thin. Her body doesn’t look good either- so much fat in her middle in the bikini picture. I don’t get all the praise. There’s other celebrities who look much better.

Seriously. I think people overvalue these procedures. Like, 36% of Americans are obese, another 32% overweight. Lose weight, stop eating junk food, and you'll probably look good.

She does not look like a skeleton, don't exaggerate.
9 out of 10 white women of that age will have thin lips, what do you suggest? Oh, I know, never mind.

I think she does. Plus, in this picture, her drawn face and non existent lips do not go with the silly, frilly top she has on. Those look good on young or young looking ppl, so she’s not even dressing appropriately for her age/looks. I think the answer to OP’s question is just let yourself go and you’ll age like Gwyneth.
