People in Crisis - Why do they continue to have children?

Anonymous
It’s the same reason you see a lot of poor people ANYWHERE with tons of kids.

Stupidity

Bc the handouts keep rolling in!

No birth control; they can't afford it or don't have access and the men won't wrap it up.

Most of the women don't want baby after baby when they are already broke. But they don't have a choice.

I find it really telling that many of you assume that all refugees are ignorant, uneducated women who have zero rights. Not all women from those countries have no agency. That is a gross assumption.

The people saying that are gross. But the women in ICE custody and who are fleeing their homeland are in very dangerous situations now.

The same can said for plenty of people here who cannot parent their children.

You have never been in a refugee camp if you believe that.

You don’t get to choose who has babies. Everyone deserves to have a family if they want one.

Such PC boloney. I've worked with low-income folks for 30 years. Free health care, free condoms, free birth control, free sex ed. They still go out and get pregnant by deadbeats. Medicaid babies out number non-medicaid babies in nearly every US city.

OP asked about refugees.

So - this is really really ridiculous but not even for the reason people are saying (although that is also true)

Because they want a child. Because they are human. Because, amidst suffering, there is also a seeking of new life.

I lived in a non-first world country for a long time. OP, you are an absolute idiot. So many women from these situations really have no alternative: they are expected and required to marry young and to have baby after baby. They do not receive an education that would allow them any other path, and everyone in their world reinforces what is expected of young women.

And then you look down on them and sneer at them from your position of privilege, unable to comprehend that so many people do not have the advantages you take for granted.

No, idiot, it is not a "gross assumption." I've lived in several of those countries, and yes, the majority of women in the societies from which the US receives the most refugees ARE uneducated and with very little rights. I am embarrassed for you, but I also doubt there is any hope for you to really understand how the greater world works at this point. God. Just take your privilege and idiocy and go get a manicure or something, OP. You should probably keep your mouth shut on topics you don't understand in the future to avoid embarrassing yourself further.

You are a terrible person, and also very ignorant of the world outside of your tiny, limited circle.

OP here - I asked a legitimate question, I'm not embarrassed about it. I'm embarrassed that you seem to not be able to have a rational conversation about things. I would check that anger.

Work on your IQ first. You asked a very dumb question and got rightfully called out on it.

It's an honest question, and I got honest answers ... unsurprisingly, not everyone agrees. You should check your white privilege that allows you to think that just because you lived abroad you know everything. Still waiting on the source that says the majority of women refugees are uneducated. Please do share.
