Many refugees had their health care disrupted. They may have been on the pill to space out the two or three kids they intended to have, but civil unrest meant the doctors fled and the pharmacies couldn’t get supplies. They may have sought to have a lost diaphragm replaced, but the resettlement camp staff lacks the skills or supplies to assist. People of all social classes uses sex to comfort and destress. Of course, there are also many refugees who are sexually assaulted. You don’t see much Plan B on the roadside or in resettlement camps. |
Yes of course. Community college or vocational or trades. I've also though that TANF, medicaid or other welfare forms should give free IUDs. |
OP, you're sheltered and look at the world through a keyhole.
I cringed when I hear someone makes a comment like that. Sigh. |
Marital rape is perfectly acceptable in many cultures around the world. This used to be okay in the U. S. too not too long ago. Also, women/girls are thought of as nothing more than a receptacle for men to satisfy themselves, like a urinal. |
CC isn’t enough to lift someone out of poverty. Would you be willing to ensure tuition for 4 year degrees without loans so long as the student maintained a C average? If you are 18 and don’t have kids, you aren’t receiving TANF since it’s temporary aid to needy families and an adult, non-disabled child doesn’t count. |
The same reason do many of you have kids you cannot afford and then nivkle and fine your nannies. |
Your post makes me sad. Rates of sexual assault among migrants and refugees are sky high. And no access to birth control. |
Because of the patriarchy. |
this |
OP, you should be embarrassed to be this clueless. |
I thought you were going to post about the women in a developed country, here, that has 3 disabled children and feels like her life sucks then has more?
Refugees? Really? They have NO birth control. I got pregnant on birth control. If I were them, without trying, I would have 6+ children. |
Well WONDER NO MORE! Start Googling and EDUCATE YOURSELF about the fact: 1) They live in cultures where they are literally unable to tell their husbands "no"; he has full rights, as their husband, to force himself upon them. 2) They have no access to health care 3) They lack education about their reproductive systems and thus can't even reasonably try to time things; and even if they could, again, see #1 Good grief. If you graduated from high school and/or college, you should be ashamed of both yourself and your "institutions." |
And no access to abortion, obviously. The US government, among many others, ban it. |
It’s weird that all the explanations are about women. Yes, they don’t have a choice, but men do. Men in crisis consciously chose to make kids, make women suffer, make babies suffer, and this choice is mind-bogging. |
I would give out IUDs to everyone like candy. |
