| DC will continue to gentrify by pushing into MD. Crime in MD will continue to increase. Most of those pushed out cannot afford VA (perhaps deep into VA) nor will dare commit crimes there. So this crime map posted will be even more skewed. |
Marion's "Chocolate" City is melting away...Good. |
Lol right there will be no more black people in DC cause they’re all poor.
|
Wow and incredibly false. My neighborhood is predominantly black and crime free. And each household has a black male in your age range. Your statement is racist and false. |
It's poverty and social dysfunction that matters, more than race Pat Moynihan was so ahead of his time. But in DC the demographic brew is what it is. |
Agreed. Although demographics here may reflect wealth demographics, it is certainly not a race issue. Poor people of any race of similar socio-economic background if placed in such a wealth divided area would cause similar problems. |
Ever been to any city in SE Asia? The land of extreme wealth divides? I call BS on this statement because despite the extreme poverty prevalent in these nations, the crime rates are nowhere near as high as they are in what you'll find in our inner cities. This is a cultural problem specific to Black Americans. |
Ahhh the beauty of an opinion...it’s all yours. I’ll pass got my own, thank you. |
That's just silly. DC has areas that are filled with people many of whom are decent people but there's a group mindset in some and a value system that tears down the neighborhood and community. These neighborhoods are largely AA and when people get the money to move they do... Think of this contagion as the way some young people have the herd behavior in other circumstances like frats. Suscepible people fall into it. Just like all Hispanic immigrants are not in MS13 which is a far more insidious problem since it's like the mafia-no escaping if you're in their territory. |
NP. I live in in NOVA. We don't lock our doors. We're happy to be boring here, and safe. I understand why people would prefer a more exciting life, but I don't. I'd rather be safe than exciting, and my neighbors agree. |

Melted away to PG. |
Shrug I feel like I'm in a developing country driving through SE DC and parts of NE, complete with masses homeless and open defecation. |
|
+1. DC would rarely be described as "exciting" by most big cities anyways. However it is more exciting than NOVA. But MD really? LOL! If you think Bethesda living is "living on the edge" then good for you. I guess some will consider PG county exciting. I mean who does't enjoy 24/7 crime and police lights. |
