| Again. Most houses in Phillips Park do have the appropriate space. In fact Foxhall was considered new money by most when it was first built and you can tell that the character of the homes on Dexter and W don't have a city feel. But of course people here want to hate on people who can afford a $3m oasis in the middle of the city. Most of the people who live there aren't new money they just didn't want to move out to the burbs to enjoy the comforts of large spacious living. |
| This thread is HILARIOUS! Love it. |
| There are a few monstrosities that were recently built on Chain Bridge Rd right as you drive into VA from DC. It never ceases to amaze me how rich people can have such bad taste! |
OMG, the CASA DEL AMOR!!!! My DH and I have moved to another city but still joke about that place. |
LOL! NP here who drives by the eagle house on the way to work. In order to truly appreciate this house, you must see it at night. They have outdoor optical lights on the house and in the fountain..blue, purple and pink. It is very lit up all year long. |
HAhaha yes! But wait, dont joke about it, thats not funny! Its someone's dream home pp. How rude of you
|
Wait it gets better! LOL...I did not think there could be more to this house! |
You think those are bad? Check out Chain Bridge Rd NW. http://franklymls.com/DC7566417 |
Yes! |
Seriously? I live in an established neighborhood in the District and would not trade up from our 2 mil house for a Phillips "oasis." You cannot walk anywhere from there in less than 15 minutes. Why live in the city in a huge house on a small lot if there are no other conveniences? |
Really? Do you know that there are small lots or are you just going off what you read on this thread? Most of the lots there are huge. You sound like one of those District residents that don't want any progress and change. You must be fighting the new Giant on Wisconsin. |
Holy crap! I am SOO tempted to get in the car and go see them right nao! |
There is a LOT more.. I'm a new poster... and cannot believe that no one has mentioned the palm trees yet. I believe they are fake, because palm trees don't grow in Potomac in the winter. Yes there are colored lights at night lie you are at Disneyland! And there is a sign that says, "Casa D'Amor"-- it is a love nest! This is all right past Congressional Country Club before you get to Potomac Village, on the right as you drive on River Road. But you can't miss it. |
| Ahaha thanks for sharing!!! When I drove by on Sunday in the daylight I was shocked but it sounds like a real gem at night!!! |

I'm as amused by anyone else at certain descriptions here.
I know what it is like to have a misfit house in the neighborhood, and it can be comical. Some PP's, when you start going off on certain things, it rubs me the wrong way and you come across as really pissed off. This tells me you have failed in so many ways. More ways than I can imagine. I guess McMansion is one of those ways. So what if my friend lives in a big house? I would never call it a McMansion because it would make me look bad. That is all I am trying to say. That said, I would be damned if I would pay $1m+ for an f*cked up sideways town house with no windows in Georgetown. Call me a hypocrite. |
