Again, Carlos Horcasitas. Montgomery College grad and gas station developer. Owns most of the gas stations in Montgomery County.

ah fair enough. i'm not going to knock his hustle. however, with that kind of cash, and being an owner/exec he could've just bought an original villa like that down in miami.

wouldn't new new money buy places in turnberry tower (i know i know not dc) and stuff like that?

I know what it is like to have a misfit house in the neighborhood, and it can be comical.

Some PP's, when you start going off on certain things, it rubs me the wrong way and you come across as really pissed off. This tells me you have failed in so many ways. More ways than I can imagine. I guess McMansion is one of those ways. So what if my friend lives in a big house? I would never call it a McMansion because it would make me look bad. That is all I am trying to say.

That said, I would be damned if I would pay $1m+ for an f*cked up sideways town house with no windows in Georgetown.

Call me a hypocrite.

LOL AT people in georgetown town houses thinking 3rd world slave houses are better than new mclean, bethesda or anywhere else construction

Probably owns a few houses. But Casa de Amor is the gaudiest house I have seen in the D/M/V

it also inspires a few competitors. This guy is $18 million (yes $18) and right across the street:

Or how about this one? 35,000 square feet for $6mil. Built by a cosmetics kingpin:

Or this one? 18.5k sq ft and $6mil.

If you do some research, Potomac/Great Falls, MD and McLean/Great Falls, VA have the most absurd ultra mansions around. Poke around on google maps and you'll see some absurd houses.

for that kind of money, why wouldn't you just have spent an extra 4-5 million on evermay?

if you can afford an 18 million dollar house, surely 22 million for a house isn't that big of a deal.

What on earth would you know about class? You are one white sheet away from full on racism.

Ugh let me back up before this gets out of hand. I didn't invent the term, I was only reusing it. In England people from the Indian sub continent are called Pakis. I didn't mean to be or sound racist, just trying to paint a picture. I apologize to the forum.

English person here. Let me be clear than the only people in the UK who would ever use that term would be racists. It is not an acceptable term there, and is extremely offensive.

Exactly. American here, but just moved back after many years in the UK. It is NOT an acceptable term there. Or here.

It might be a year late, but anyone that uses claims it's just an innocent term is trying to play off of American naivete. The "grandma in her sari" comment struck me as "yeah, I'm making disparaging comments about South Asians."

Lots of the Redskins live in Loudoun County, for ex. I was an election officer in November and I had two Redskins (London Fletcher and someone else that I forget now) that I checked in.

The "most powerful people in the world"? Like who?

Whoever built this strange pink stoned with white roof house right on river needs to move it Miami. It looks terrible there I mean complete eye sore. Its got to be new money bc no one in their right mind would have built that with some taste. Oh and there are GIANT EAGLES on the gate to the property.

Also saw some massive homes being built out there. Huge land out there but way too far for me. If I had money I would never live out that far!

I know exactly which house you are talking about. BARF.
