What are your rules about smoking pot at home?

My house, my rules no smoking of anything.

If I say no pot at home, I don’t want to push them to go somewhere unsafe to smoke. I want them to stop completely. I have a high school-aged child and home and don’t want this around him either. How are you handling a pot-smoking young adult under your roof?

Pot is really damaging for teen’s developing brain. Ruins their motivation and other issues.

I would absolutely not allow it, and try to discourage kid from the path he is on. Maybe suggest counseling?

If he does it alone or during the day, in his childhood home….I would worry he has developed a dependence on it.

If they didn’t stop I’d change the locks. Neither of their grandparents would take them in either if they used drugs. Thankfully we raised responsible children and we don’t have issues like this.

Absolutely not. Is it legal in your state? Would not be allowed in our home

You must be my neighbor. Junior is home for the summer, pot smoking commenced day one. We can smell it daily, and I can’t wait for him and his friends to return to school.

Poor you. However will you survive?

Ok…..

OP - if your kids are not gunning for high levels of professional success, it doesn't matter much.

You are absolutely insane. I’m sure this kind of crazy came out about different things in their childhood so don’t be surprised when they choose to cut you out.

Are you upset that we’ve raised normal, healthy, happy, intelligent, high functioning children?

You mean they turned out great in spite of how awful you are? Why would I be upset about that?

But YOU should be upset that you would proudly throw your amazing children into the street because of something as minor as pot.

^^What kind of uneducated response was this?

FYI - there are many more functional households and families where members are responsible and intelligent. They know not to indulge in - smoking pot, "cheat in", and other destructive behaviour.

I find it equally horrifying and amusing (because I think it's BS) that so many of you would cut your kids off because they smoke pot occasionally.

I absolutely would cut off my kids if they smoked pot. We have a zero tolerance policy in our house. When they decide to stop acting like a loser, they can come back.

You're the only loser in that scenario. But your kids are probably better off without you.
