What are your rules about smoking pot at home?

Yes! The wish for our kids to have clean lungs, a healthy heart, good coping strategies, emotional regulation and top cognitive skills illness. That illness is one many of your neighbors seem to have, PP.

I work for the general counsel of a huge organization in DC. He vapes. You're just dumb.

Then he is a complete loser. Grownups that vape are embarrassing. He’ll regret the popcorn lungs he’s creating with every juvenile puff.

I’m not universally anti-cannabis, but nobody should use regularly before age 25-28, and certainly not a college kid. And absolutely it should be stigmatized enough that they know it’s “wrong” and shouldn’t do it in your home.

You're an absolute idiot. I doubt you pay for college or even have kids of college age, but if you stopped paying for college abruptly, that would 1000% ruin their life much faster than pot would.

Its a little dramatic to say a parent not paying for college until DC gets their act together will "ruin their life."
Kids are entitled to many things from their parents but not college tuition. Its a huge investment from parents and if the kids are not taking that investment seriously it needs to pause until they are able to take it seriously.
People mature at different rates, taking a pause so they can grow up and take responsibility will not ruin their life.

+1
Kids take a pause or gap years all the time. With parental help, the kid can grow up, go to rehab or therapy etc and then go back to school when ready. No shame in any of that and a better ROI for all.

This. And I would also discontinue paying for college.

I am an adult who has used cannabis in various forms - but exclusively edibles for several years - since my late teens. I would not be comfortable with my kids smoking pot in my house in any context or at any age. Boundaries.

We did “my house, my rules”. Kid moved back to the town their college is in and stayed with friends the whole summer last year. We didn’t see him at all after that, and communication was limited to occasional texts. Be careful what you wish for.

They have to share.

There’s more to this than pot. Hopefully your kid gets mental health treatment and addiction treatment.

Pot stinks. It reeks. It gets in fabrics and soft furniture .
It's your house. No smoking anything is a rule.
Let them do dope elsewhere.
