While I find Trump’s blunt, NYC-style of talk rather distasteful, and no one admires his family history of infidelity and divorce, his policies are the opposite of what you progressives have put in place over the THREE (3) terms of President Obama.

And let’s stop pretending it was demented Biden directing the country; Obama ran things from behind the curtain.

You cheered on the invasion of our country, demonized our police, and rammed through a truly weird transgender agenda in our public schools, which even my gay friends find really weird.

BTW - I do agree with you progressives in favor war in Ukraine until victory; I want to see Putin’s evil-empire 2.0 completely collapse because I have family in Europe, and I know there will never be peace or real security in Europe until the Putin / puppet Medvedev regime collapses. Putin can’t be trusted.

You are a conspiracy theorist. Not sure that counts as a 'traditional conservative.' l

I would argue that it doesn’t. She sounds “extremely online” and persuaded more my what she thinks is happening than what’s really happening.

And I meant to add: you created a multi-billion dollar DEI or DEIA “industry.” The fact is:

DEI = racism. I cannot and will not support racism; will you?

DEI is there to counter racism. wow, you really live in a different world.

You need to educate yourself on the meaning of the “E” in DEI & DEIA.

E = equity. To achieve equity, you treat people not on the content of their character (or their skill), but rather: you treat people differently based on the color of their skin.

THAT is racism.

Pls stop. These were shallow movements. Many of the goals/messages were extreme

I have never been blindly pro law enforcement (bc of my background). I am basically socially libertarian but I like smart / safetynet government. BUT I was upset when DC blasted a giant BLM sign on the pavement on its street. An entire block. A friend sent a photo to me bc he got access from a roof top. Obviously •BLM . They movement was about defund the police thu. Get cops off the streets

That is so insulting to public servant cops. Those cops are legit “ crazy “—and run towards the danger. They do not earn much. Not a lot of people do that.

Shame on all of us

No, the movement was about not having racist cops shoot black people in the back or choke them to death in the street.

Do you know what is insulting to cops? Releasing the J6ers who maimed and assaulted cops who were protecting the US Capitol in a coup attempt.

What on earth do you see as pro-family values in a man who has 5 children by three different women, cheated on at least two of his wives, and brags that he can grab women by the puSy? And his co-president, who no one voted for, has 14 children by more women than anyone seems to be able to keep track of- only some of while he’s been married to.

What tells values to do you see him when he uses the Bible as a prop and has no idea what’s inside? There’s zero evidence that he’s a religious person. He’s a carnival barker taking advantage of low-information, gullible religious people.

There’s unlimited evidence that he illegally uses his position to personally profit. He has a lifetime history of fraud. Thou shall not steal?

Biden was old but if you actually believe Trump is not demented, you are only consuming trashy right wing news.

Well said, I too am a traditional conservative who is very happy with Trump so far. He is doing exactly what he promised. Securing the border, enforcing immigration laws, getting rid of divisive DEI policies, bringing accountability and business-like approach to government, restoring respect for the police. I found his speech on Tuesday informative, honest, funny at times, and made me proud to be an American. I can't even imagine how depressing a SOTU with Kamala babbling and cackling for an hour but saying nothing would be. DCUM runs about 90% left wing, so it leaves a misleading impression that the whole country is appalled by Trump. Fortunately, most Americans are getting what they voted for and are happy about that.

What is funny (or really sad) is that this is the opposite of what is happening.

Border crossings are likely down because our president is tanking the economy so why would immigrants want to come here? I guess technically he made good on his word to stop the flow of illegal immigration, but that is like blowing up your car and then bragging about how much gas money you are saving. And re: enforcing immigration laws, do you mean rounding up US citizens in ICE raids and then turning the Hispanic conservative voting population against him?

Also by getting rid of DEI, do you realize this also includes A (as In accessibility for disabled people). Plus DEI was just a pretext for mass firings — and they are also emptying out civil rights offices because apparently EEO laws no longer matter.

By bringing “accountability” and a “business like approach” to government do you mean all the mass firings that are dismantling agencies and then being overturned by the courts? Or the brilliant business minds that fired nuclear safety staff, people working on bird flu, etc.? Or by accountability do you mean all the unproven “savings” that keep getting deleted from the DOGE website?

Respect for police … like pardoning the J6 rioters?

And honest, informative speech? You mean the trans mice and 150 year olds collecting Social Security?

You are the sad epitome of a low information voter who happily gargles the garbage that Fox News spews.

But at least we don’t have Kamala “babbling and cackling” — I find it telling that you have to criticize her demeanor to show why she is unqualified. Hmmm so Hilary didn’t smile enough and Kamala laughs too much. Perhaps there is some other underlying reason you don’t like them that doesn’t have to do with their qualifications …

You are not concerned with the fact that DOGE has not reduced inefficiency. Elon (unelected)'s crew of youngsters has randomly fired government employees without intentionally doing any analysis about performance quality, necessity of job, security, etc. Just straight across the board cuts with zero analysis. Kind of like you do at a failing tech start-up which has limited consequences because it doesn't handle our nuclear capabilities, financial regulation/safeguarding, health benefits, etc.

How do you feel about the markets tanking and Trump's game of chicken on tarriffs increasing inflation and making a recession more likely?

How do you feel about Trump's treatment towards our ally Canada?

How do you feel about Trump agreeing with Putin and signing onto his world vision? Does it make you feel more safe?

How do you feel about planes falling out of the sky? Since Trump appointed the Secretary of Transportation from the former cast of the Real World to succeed Buttigieg. No planes fell from the sky during Buttigieg's watch, but many are on Sean Duffy's watch.

How do you feel about pardoning all the Jan 6th insurrectionists? Several of which are back in jail for committing more crimes.

How do you feel about him allowing Andrew Tate to return to USA from prison in Europe for sex crimes/trafficking?

Traditional conservative here. You make good points. I'd add that I was also appalled by how he treated President Zelensky whose country was obviously invaded by Russia.

The corruption and self-dealing is also a problem for real conservatives.

$5 million for business leaders to pay to play (have dinner/business meeting with Trump).

Also the Trump meme and now crypto scam.

There are real conservatives (former Reaganites) who would be horrified by cozying up to former-Soviet and corrupt Russia while trying to humiliate our allies (Ukraine) or start a trade war with our closest ally (Canada). That's not good or sane foreign policy.

DEI means I have an equal chance at landing the same job for the same pay as my male counterparts.

Do you trust Bloomberg news?

- 94% of jobs recently given EXCLUSIVELY to BIPOC Americans.

Does 94% given to ONE group sound like there was (as you put it) an “equal chance” in hiring? Read it yourself:

Anonymous wrote:Utah has a largest percentage of traditional conservatives.

While Trump won Utah decisively, he underperformed there relative to other deep red states.

When you consider how overwhelmingly white Utah is, compared to say Alabama, which has a large minority of mostly democrat-voting blacks, it just underscores how different the white conservatives are in Utah vs Alabama. Utah white conservatives are less motivated by racial/nativist rhetoric than deep south conservatives.

Tl;dr: if you are a non-white conservative, move to Utah. The white conservatives there are actually decent people.

But, aren’t they Mormons?

And for people to have issues with the A (access) is disgusting. You want people with disabilities not to have access to jobs and services and places of public accommodation? And then call yourself a "church goer?" WTAF?

Haven't we learned already that these religious church goers are the biggest hypocrites in the world. They spouse Christian values when they have none themselves.

If there is a hell, most of them will burn there.

Yeah, so why don’t you provider the full detail? Most of these jobs for BIPOC hires were lower paying, entry level. The managerial hires were still a majority white. Moreover, white people still dominate higher paying / executive jobs.

Don’t worry, white people still have the advantage.

For every editorial where the WSJ gently admonishes Trump, they publish twice as many where they excoriate Democrats--even though they do not currently control any branch of government.

Same for my in-laws. They call themselves "small-c conservatives." They attend church and are pro marriage and military. Always stand for the Pledge and National Anthem, even in their living room. They're also in favor of universal healthcare, staying out of people's personal business, and think that power confers responsibility. Above all, they hate amoral and stupid people and think they shouldn't be in charge. They exist. I think they're just as befuddled as the rest of us.

What does pro-marriage and military mean. I know no one who is anti-marriage or anti military. What they are against is someone else defining who should be able marry short of children to adults. What they are against is the military having no space for all who wish to serve and not understanding that they serve the balance of diplomacy and defense. And also that they have an unlimited budget or are beyond questioning in comparison to other agencies.

Why do conservatives think they are the ones who have rights to religion, family, and patriotism? Maybe if we got rid of this conservative, liberal, progressive nonsense and let government focus on actual problems and solutions things would actually be better.
