This. They no longer exist. Or are too afraid to admit it. |
Coo Coo for cocoa puffs. |
| I know it probably not work, but it’s probably time for a common sense third party. Most of our presidents prior to 2016 had moderate leanings. I think most responsible people find the current political situation annoying more than anything. |
|
The "republican party" has abandoned traditional conservatives. It is no longer the party of "family values" "fiscal restraint" "law and order" or "peace through strength abroad"
None of those "Reagan Republican" values exist anymore in the GOP. The sooner people understand that, the sooner a center left coalition can take control of the country back from the MAGAs. Hopefully starting with the 2-3 special House races and the Virginia elections in 2025. |
DEI means I have an equal chance at landing the same job for the same pay as my male counterparts. |
+1 And for people to have issues with the A (access) is disgusting. You want people with disabilities not to have access to jobs and services and places of public accommodation? And then call yourself a "church goer?" WTAF? |
Funny how the people outraged by DEI are silent when it comes to the historical advantages white men received that paid off dividends for decades. It’s like ignoring the player who cheated at monopoly for most the game and then being mad when some rules are tweaked to give the cheated upon players a chance to get back in the game. Also, they don’t seem to be upset by all the white supremecist groups who are openly inspired by this administration. Not to mention the “A” in DEIA is accessibility. So I guess MAGA is against wheel chair ramps and sign language interpreters now? There is no low they won’t stoop to in order to keep the status quo that favored white men. The second they felt disadvantaged a bunch of podcasts popped up telling them nothing is their fault, that they have been wronged, blah blah blah not to mention the stupid red pill stuff. Sorry so many of you are losers who cannot talk to girls or compete in a job market that appreciates diversity. |
Republican women don’t seem to understand this at all. |

I venture to guess that half of the GOP congress and at least as many Republicans in the electorate find Trump appalling. But politicians are afraid, pure and simple. They are afraid of the impact on their political careers if they step up to Trump, not to mention violence and harassment at the hands of Trump’s followers.
And many regular conservative Republican voters are willing to hold their nose at Trump because they didn’t want a woman president and they hold out hope that somehow Trump’s promises of smaller government and lower taxes will help them (spoiler alert: for most of the tax base, there’s zero benefit). They knew who Trump was and now for many, the leopard is coming for them. In sum, cowardice. |
Well, DEI is actually to ensure that MERIT is what drives opportunities. Not the whiteness or the maleness of a person. It’s to overcome the fact that a non-white or non-male can have the exact same resume and education and get passed over because of their race. It’s to ensure that veterans or disabled people who are perfectly capable of doing a job or attending a school are not sidelined because of prejudice. Trump has contorted what DEI is all about and sadly many of his base are too dumb and poorly educated to understand what DEI is and because it gives them something to rage against. |
They thought they knew who he was. But their absolute willingness to ignore the signs that he ran a coup on Jan. 6, set them up for failure. Trump 2.0 is not what they wanted but they were selfish Aholes anyway so they will try to protect their families now that things are falling apart by keeping quiet. I see more of these "normal" Rs sending their kids abroad either for college or some sort of international work after college so they'll be safe. |

They mostly died off when Romney was labeled a racist and (falsely) accused by Harry Reid of being a tax cheat on the Senate floor.
Politics is a blood sport, unfortunately. |
Sure, Debbie I'm sure that was a momentous day for you |
Yaaaaaaawnnn |
Ambien can be habit forming |
