I am a traditional, pro-family values, pro-America, church-going conservative. While I find Trump’s blunt, NYC-style of talk rather distasteful, and no one admires his family history of infidelity and divorce, his policies are the opposite of what you progressives have put in place over the THREE (3) terms of President Obama. And let’s stop pretending it was demented Biden directing the country; Obama ran things from behind the curtain. You cheered on the invasion of our country, demonized our police, and rammed through a truly weird transgender agenda in our public schools, which even my gay friends find really weird. BTW - I do agree with you progressives in favor war in Ukraine until victory; I want to see Putin’s evil-empire 2.0 completely collapse because I have family in Europe, and I know there will never be peace or real security in Europe until the Putin / puppet Medvedev regime collapses. Putin can’t be trusted.
Well said, I too am a traditional conservative who is very happy with Trump so far. He is doing exactly what he promised. Securing the border, enforcing immigration laws, getting rid of divisive DEI policies, bringing accountability and business-like approach to government, restoring respect for the police. I found his speech on Tuesday informative, honest, funny at times, and made me proud to be an American. I can't even imagine how depressing a SOTU with Kamala babbling and cackling for an hour but saying nothing would be. DCUM runs about 90% left wing, so it leaves a misleading impression that the whole country is appalled by Trump. Fortunately, most Americans are getting what they voted for and are happy about that.
You are not concerned with the fact that DOGE has not reduced inefficiency. Elon (unelected)'s crew of youngsters has randomly fired government employees without intentionally doing any analysis about performance quality, necessity of job, security, etc. Just straight across the board cuts with zero analysis. Kind of like you do at a failing tech start-up which has limited consequences because it doesn't handle our nuclear capabilities, financial regulation/safeguarding, health benefits, etc. How do you feel about the markets tanking and Trump's game of chicken on tarriffs increasing inflation and making a recession more likely? How do you feel about Trump's treatment towards our ally Canada? How do you feel about Trump agreeing with Putin and signing onto his world vision? Does it make you feel more safe? How do you feel about planes falling out of the sky? Since Trump appointed the Secretary of Transportation from the former cast of the Real World to succeed Buttigieg. No planes fell from the sky during Buttigieg's watch, but many are on Sean Duffy's watch. How do you feel about pardoning all the Jan 6th insurrectionists? Several of which are back in jail for committing more crimes. How do you feel about him allowing Andrew Tate to return to USA from prison in Europe for sex crimes/trafficking?
Traditional conservative here. You make good points. I'd add that I was also appalled by how he treated President Zelensky whose country was obviously invaded by Russia.
