The post above is accurate with regards to the Indy boys. Nobody that has any real insight into the lax community throughout NOVA is going to say anything supportive about that program and its coaches and I think they are fine with that. The Indy parents have certainly been joined by other posters throughout many boards on this site posing as Indy supporters to stir the pot further. Doubt it goes anywhere anytime soon. Does make it easier to root for Riverside as they handle their business on the field as do the Madison, Robinson, YT etc... |
Honestly it is not the Indy team or parents doing this "pendence" thing, at least in my opinion. My educated guess it is players most likely from Riverside or perhaps Briar Woods. More unlikely, it would be players who are 2026s in the club scene that play the Indy kids at VLC? maybe. |
| It would be awesome of the Indy supporters or trolls could go dark for awhile, or if the moderator could start deleting Indy related posts. They tend to hijack otherwise worthwhile discussions. |
This does sum it up nicely. I have a slightly different take and maybe not on the same page, but in the same chapter as you. From my perspective, Independence has a good 25 and 26 class. The 26 class has been overhyped (since rec even) and my belief is the 25s are a better class for them. I do believe it was some Indy 26 parents/players posting about a year or 2 ago about how great they were going to be. That seemed to die out, but was picked up by some non Independence player/parents. Yes, coaches kid did and has had conduct issues in HS, VEL and club etc. From the video I saw he should have been kicked off the team but only got a game or two suspension. I think all this things you see today are the non-Indy peeps just being idiots. I suspect it is the 26s at Riverside myself. |
A very educated guess. Props to this fine poster for putting his PhD in Forumology to good use. |
VLC is a garbage program so it is probably them. |
Does everyone realize how ridiculous it is to compare Independence and Riverside. Honestly, Riverside doesn’t get mentioned enough for being an all-time Virginia power. 6 state championships in 8 years of existence is amazing. And they are getting disrespected for the past 2 years by people saying Independence is a better program. And honestly the lacrosse community in this area as a whole doesn’t either. Nobody cares. |
Thanks Joe |
Who? |
Good one Joe, really got them there |
I agree and VLC's garbage has been slowly seeping into other programs especially in the 26 class. When posters on this forum talk about how terrible Independence is all I can think of is why are they so bad. It's a simple answer Pendence is a no good program due to the plethora of VLC players on there team. So any program attempting to hold themselves together with VLC players is doomed. So I look forward to watching the downfall of Dence with the rest of you all. |
You can't tell much about a team when teams are incomplete, but good point about evaluating players. any particular players who made good showings? |
OK thanks for outing yourself "anonymous" we all now know that the "pendence" dad is the same VLC hater dad who has been posting on here for years. Dude, we all know who you are. It is sad that you are this obsessed when not even connected to either program. Maybe we need a welfare check. |
Is there any chance a kid from Public School could make it to D1? Or is it pretty much setup that he would have to go to a private school? I was guessing if they are in a good club program that would help. |
Man, this is way off topic. There are ususally a couple every year. Two '23s from Lake Braddock went D1 - Penn State and Georgetown. Riverside has sent kids to UVA, Jacksonville. Yes, you need to be on a top club team to get to higher level D1. |
