VEL 2025 Black Division

Anonymous
Tomorrow kicks off VEL and while the haters say it means nothing, at least it’s something to discuss.

Week 1 Black division schedule:
Battlefield v Robinson
Paul VI v Bishop Ireton
Yorktown v Langley
Madison v Independence

Don’t know why the Madison/ Indy teams are listed in the black division, but the game is listed as green. Think it is a misprint as the green team are mostly JV, so including it here.

Picks:
Robinson (11-7)- they were far above all the public’s last year and that continues here. All things equal, BF lost their stud goalie. They will not outscore Robo and will not stop as many as last year.

PVI (12-6) should be the best in the division here. In a battle of privates, they have been far better than BI. While BI has improved, they are not at the same level

Yorktown/ Langley- winner +1? Two fairly equal teams that battled it out last year with each winning one in very close games. May just depend on who registered, who shows up week 1, who is injured. True toss up for me

Madison (16-3) I hear the Indy talk, but they are just not at Madison’s level. I don’t expect it to be close. If Indy has a goalie, can control the X or plays stall ball this could have less scoring, will not be close either way.

Great analysis, pendence should not be in this division they simply can’t compete at this level.

Thank you. While I understand we share some opinions, your the poster that uses “pendence”
I find it quite annoying and disregard many of your comments in the other threads because of it.
When people here are rude or degrading I immediately downgrade their opinions.
You may want to rethink your approach and learn to honor the game and your opponents. Be the bigger person.

Considering pendence returns basically everyone I would imagine they look the best of anyone outside of PVI week 1. Doesn’t really say anything about talent level more they’ll all be on the same page and know their roles. Every other team will most likely look ugly with a lot of new faces learning new roles.

Not an Indy Parent, but they return almost their whole team from last year, and continued to play throughout the summer. I'm not saying they are going to beat everyone in this division, but they will be above .500%. Not every team has everyone due to football season, and these games count for nothing, but Indy is better than most on this thread give them credit for.

I stand by my earlier post. In fact, you have reinforced my original opinion with you additional posts.
It is very clear you are someone from Riverside, as I do not see any other scenario here. In addition, based on your syntax, vocabulary and attitude I believe you are a juvenile. This I will ignore your future posts.

My suggestion to you is learn some manors and respect for your fellow players and opponents.

Man here they go again! I said it on the other thread- Riverside parents and players are becoming THE worst!

This program is falling off hard and becoming an embarrassment. They used to be classy but now…… wow.

OP here, yes I was going to post today as it looks like they are a bit slow on the updates. I wanted to do just one post. The Robo/BF game was not updated.

Langley 10-4 Yorktown
PVI 10- 2 BI
Madison 7-5 Independence
Robinson 0-0 Battlefield

Self examination:
Missed the Langley/Yorktown - based on previous meetings these teams seemed much more even
PVI/ BI result no surprise and most likely PVI the team to beat here
Madison has taken another step back after graduating the last few classes or Indy is much better then I have seen.
Overall, I did not figure the format into my scores and need to lower them with the summer tournament rules of running clock and two 20 min half.
Not sure if the Robo/BF game was played, postponed or just not posted.
