Madison JV 2

Any other scores?

OP here, yes I was going to post today as it looks like they are a bit slow on the updates. I wanted to do just one post. The Robo/BF game was not updated.

Langley 10-4 Yorktown
PVI 10- 2 BI
Madison 7-5 Independence
Robinson 0-0 Battlefield

Self examination:
Missed the Langley/Yorktown - based on previous meetings these teams seemed much more even
PVI/ BI result no surprise and most likely PVI the team to beat here
Madison has taken another step back after graduating the last few classes or Indy is much better then I have seen.
Overall, I did not figure the format into my scores and need to lower them with the summer tournament rules of running clock and two 20 min half.
Not sure if the Robo/BF game was played, postponed or just not posted.

You weren’t wrong on Yorktown you just didn’t have enough information. Yorktown was combined with Meridian. From what I’m hearing most of the JV teams have eighth graders - if appears that reports of lower interest in lax are correct

This is for the varsity black division. The Yorktown/ Meridian combo looks to be the JV division.

Many teams have kids that play football, and their coaches don't allow them to play in the league, even on a Sunday. Some kids have Fall Jobs on the weekends. Some programs aren't organized, or a change in the coaching staff leading to low numbers at registration.

VEL is a great opportunity to 1) play lacrosse, 2) transition from Middle School to JV, and JV to Varsity, 3) take on a new or bigger role within your program. 4) continue to work on your overall individual & team development. 5) create a bond with your teammates. 6) have fun and compete. Wins/Loses don't count towards anything in VEL, but you take back what your learning, seeing in these games and work on them this off-season to be a better team in the Spring.

We've been lucky for 13+ years that we have this consistent and affordable league each and every season for all the programs and players in this area.

Yes all of this.

Others find additional value in evaluating teams and players. Thank you for your opinion.

Those other opinions are like judging who would win the Super Bowl by just looking at pre-season games. VEL means nothing beyond just getting reps and individual improvement. Sure nice to win but it means nothing. Anyone that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

I am sorry.... But everytime I see this posted it makes me laugh. I just keep switching the spelling of Pendence. From the "dence" to "is" in my head.

Pendence has Langley this week. Predictions? Any post-game shenanigans yet?

Pendence JV has Lightridge/McLean. Do they get on the scoreboard?

This thread is about the Varsity black division, there are no JV teams in this division. Please take your comments elsewhere

I think Pendence gets their revenge on Ley for last years scrimmage. 15-6 final score.

And I’ve heard great things about the Pendence JV squad don’t see a way they can blow it against the Lean squad.

Serious question - what is it about Independence that tends to take over all the HS threads with angry but often incomprehensible posts?

Last season there was a ton of Indy chatter about their 2026 class being great and how they were the team to beat. Some was serious and some of it was probably from people posing as Indy supporters, but it was over the top for a team that has never won anything, and became very annoying. Then Indy had a bunch of conduct incidents from one kid in particular and the board turned against them, which made the real/fake Indy supporters even more annoying. Then Riverside won yet again. Then this stupid Pendence stuff started this year from either real or fake Indy supporters which has made any lacrosse discussion that even remotely relates to Independence unbearable. That about sums it up.
