| All the parents should be tried for manslaughter |
Reporters were live tweeting the proceedings. They were also charged as adults. |
They all had excessive absences that’s why Bowser came out and said she’s going to hold parents accountable for their kids truancy. |
Blue coat was originally arrested and released. |
So, fine the parents. They won't pay. Jail the parents. Now the kids get to play GTA until they are officially adults at 21 (except when it comes to commiting crimes, you are a juvenile until 26.) This solution sounds fantastic. Only the mind of a dedicated government employee could have found it. |
The parents should absolutely be charged! |
That is truly unbelievable. If one is a "juvenile" until they are 26 in DC, it should be across the board. No one under the age of 26 should be allowed to get married sign a contract (including renting/purchasing houses and cars-or even just getting a gym membership) live on their own (must have a parent/guardian) rent a hotel room buy alcohol or tobacco consent or seek any medical treatment, including obtaining birth control or abortions, without parental permission have a bank account, loan, or credit card without an adult (over 26) co-signer |

| I am mad they dropped first degree murder charges on the grounds that there wasn't premeditation. One of the girls specifically asked the guy in the blue coat if she could fight they guy. She may not have asked if she could kill him, but she saw an elderly, disabled, man and made a plan to hurt him. https://code.dccouncil.gov/us/dc/council/code/sections/22-2101 is 1st degree murder and if he was killed during a crime of "mayhem" which is basically assault, it would fit. I realize that either way they can only be incarcerated until age 21, but why not keep that charge? |
Investigate them for abuse and neglect, sure, but there's no way to force a kid that age to go to school. You could physically pick them up and bring them if they are small enough and there's a parent who is big enough, I guess, but if a kid doesn't want to go to school and CFSA isn't moving them to a group home or something, the parents are stuck. Not saying there are good parents here--I have no idea--but throughout DC there are kids who won't go to school even though their parents would desperately like them to do so, and there are no services for those families. |
This is probably the dumbest April Fool’s joke. We’ve reached a new level of pathetic with the “jokes” people try to make on this site. |
This is cringier than even GGWash's annual attempt at April Fool's Day "humor." Mediocre white people like them should not try to be funny. |
They may not have known it was wrong to do what they did. |
So they're sociopaths? They should be permanently institutionalized if they didn't know it's wrong to do what they did. |
