The 12-year old was arrested after being shot. The news report says the three teens were seen celebrating after the murder last fall.

Under DC law cannot be held after age 21. Those that prey on the elderly and disabled and are able to snuff out life with bare hands and be excited about it are terrifying. Young girls did not use to commit such crimes. But now DC has had several.

The parents should be charged as well. These girls hadn’t been in school for 3 weeks when there were out at midnight and murdered this man.

Parents need to prosecuted at this point, and these girls need to be in a secure mental institution getting help until they are at least 30.

Yep, I’m all for prosecuting parents if their minor children kill people.

Case on point (if her son hadn’t killed her already) is Adam Lazda’s mother. A parent who buys their mentally ill son a gun needs to be punished.

It's likely the parents abused these girls, or assaulted other people, and are in jail already. But I agree that just for the principle of the thing, if you haven't done your due diligence as a parent (sought psychiatric help for your child, asked their school for help, or called police on your child for a documented event of violence), and then your child kills someone on purpose, you do need to be investigated and charged.

Anyone absolved of a crime for reasons of mental incapacity must be committed to a secure hospital for treatment until they are safe to be out in public.

Except Adam Lanza wasn't a minor so they aren't the poster family for this. These kids were actual minors.

I saw that the parents showed up in court - they should have been put into custody on the spot until this all gets sorted out.

Under DC Code can only be held until 21, unfortunately. Same age girls killed the Uber Eats driver. One got held until 21, other got home confinement. Killing with bare hands and feet used to be a crime not committed by girls. Utterly horrifying.

Neighborhood knows who the man in the blue jacket is, likely are afraid of him.

Has their gang been named? Not enforcing truancy laws leaves kids at the mercy of very dangerous and violent people. Was this an initiation kill? Or just a thrill kill?

Heartbreaking for the poor elderly disabled man and his loved ones.
