2023 CEO salary has increased 1209% since 1978 compared to 2023 typical worker salary increase of 15.3% since 1978. You all ok with this?

So what were Clinton x2 and Obama x2 doing about it?

Oh yeah, getting BJs from interns and bombing gist herders and wedding parties with drones.

Nice straw man. The GOP controlled the legislative branch for most of both of their presidencies. Want to see how much Democrats can do when they have unified government? Not even a filibuster proof majority? Look at the first year or so of Obama and Biden’s administrations to see how much can get done. Now consider if they didn’t have the GOP blocking them. But you knew that. Of course, I’d love to see how the GOP is helping Gen Z. Other than making abortion illegal, thoughts and prayers on gun control, denying climate change and trying to raise the voting age, and pushing more corporate and billionaire tax cuts that is.

What has Biden accomplished? Higher inflation? Russian invasion?

Lol, you didn't even get y'all's college loan free money handouts even with Biden and Dems in charge from top to bottom.

You sad, sad echo chamber Trumper. Here's an easy to read article that goes through these one by one that doesn't make it to Fox News:

https://www.npr.org/2023/01/01/1143149435/despite-infighting-its-been-a-surprisingly-productive-2-years-for-democrats

Passed the American Rescue Plan (which did more for child poverty and helped the economy recover faster than any other developed nation. inflation has been lower too even though it's still high)

Passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law - the largest infrastructure bill in a generation

First Major Anti-Gun Safety Bill in a generation

CHiPs and Science Act to bring high tech manufacturing back to the U.S.

The Inflation Reduction Act - the largest boost to domestic green energy manufacturing and reducing greenhouse gas emissions ever in the U.S. and massive increase in IRS funding to actually go after tax cheats

Support for Ukraine's defense - surprisingly cheap foreign aid to isolate and render a primary adversary ineffective while also reaffirming the U.S.'s ties to NATO (and added Finland and potentially Sweden to the alliance). Given the consequences to Russia, I imagine it's made China think twice about invading Taiwan and brought the U.S. closer to Korea and Japan.

I'll also add that they got us out of the endless boots on the ground war in Afghanistan. It was messy but necessary and I'm glad we're done.

You can argue about whether you agree with these policies or not. However, they are consequential and meaningful to the U.S. economy, to domestic manufacturing, to long term U.S. investment, and to our foreign alliances. While inflation is higher than anyone would like, it's lower than any other developed country and our economy also recovered faster from the pandemic.

And let's remember, this was all accomplished with a razor-thin majority in the Senate that was not filibuster proof.

Those rightward shifts among Millennials are tiny. The question is whether those rightward shifts will overwhelm the effects of Gen Zers reaching voting age. I strongly, strongly doubt that.

Yes, they will, because there are a lot more of them.

There are more Millennials, yes, but... that doesn't matter. What matters is whether the number of Millennials switching to Republicans is greater the number of Democratic Gen Zers reaching voting age. That's what I am doubting.

Newsflash. Young people are always liberal. Wait until they have kids, get real jobs, pay taxes, and have wealth. You think 18 year olds with Wendy's jobs and attending college have a clue how the world works. Lol, have you been to a college recently? They're clueless children. My wife just left her job at a university. The stupidity of college kids was astounding. So many were incapable of doing something as simple as opening up a bank account and filling out the paperwork to receive direct deposit in order to get paid from their on campus job. No wonder why a cohort that inept at the basics of life is easily duped by clownshows like AOC.

Actual newsflash: other than flaming both sideser Nate Cohn’s pro gop piece, Millennials aren’t getting more conservative as we age. Why would we? We’ve seen what the gop does, their lack of policies, their corruption and support of criminals. And some of us are even lucky enough to have gotten houses and kids and minivans and are caring for our aging Boomer parents. We’re getting more liberal.

+1. I'm a Millennial now with young kids and we're getting more liberal because the GOP is nuts. What do they have to offer or rather, what is their platform other than outrage and grievances? I was born in the early 1980s and have watched what this country has become over my lifetime under "free market capitalism". What are they doing to address rising inequality, rising housing costs, rising healthcare and education, unaffordable childcare costs, and my children's future with gun violence and climate change (you can deny it but good luck getting insurance coverage in all of those coastal markets)? What are they doing to fund long term infrastructure investments, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid? What are they doing promote democracy both domestically and abroad? I don't need tax cuts. I need a well-functioning and fully funded government that is boring and normal. The New Deal worked for almost 50 years before it was systematically dismantled. Why don't we start making America Great Again and go back to high taxes, robust government investment and a strong social safety net.

Inflation is a worldwide phenomenon, moron, and lower in the U.S. than just about anywhere else. But you have nothing to say about his legislative or foreign policy achievements. You're not a serious person. It's probably better for you to go back to eating paste, playing with crayons and watching Fox News than commenting here. We'd all be better off for it.

LOL, you're going to use China as your example of better economic policy. The country that was in hard lockdown until last year and is now in economic freefall because of ponzi scheme real estate development over the last 10-15 years? They're experiencing deflation now, moron, and about to go through a massive, massive financial crisis.

And Japan? https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2022/10/why-japan-low-inflation/

You want government price controls, negative interest rates and a declining population? Okay...

Gen z is not interested in the NRA's nonsense. They want to live in a society without this level of ridiculous weaponry and they intend to vote accordingly. It is their country too.

I am much more leftwing at 35 than at 25. At 25 I was a happy-go-lucky “libertarian” who thought that working hard and putting in your hours meant success. At 35 I realize that the numbers just don’t add up anymore for the middle class. How are we supposed to raise a family, save for a downpayment on a house in this impossible housing market, save for retirement, AND have a rainy day fund when every single month has its own share of rainy days? You can make six figures in a respectable middle class job and still feel like your finances are precarious. Meanwhile billionaires in their yachts dodge their taxes and push consumer prices AND tax payments back onto us. The whole system is F’d up. Burn it to the ground.

OK, will meet you half way through education and suggesting good policy.

WE want REAL GUN CONTROL. Only happens if you repeal the 2nd amendment which won't happen in your life time. You want good policy to stop gun crime. Commit a crime with a gun and 25 years added to sentence, no possibility of parole on that 25 year addition. Of course will need to have a funded police force and DAs that will prosecute crimes for that policy to be effective.

We want college loan reforms. Blame Obama for the problem that exists today. Get the Government out of the business of guaranteeing loans, abolish the Department of Education and provide block grants to states. That would be a start.

We want living wage and want to buy a house one day. Free up American energy sources, that will create many direct and indirect well paying jobs that will enable you to buy a house one day.

Met you more than half way. Gave you a plan of action to achieve your results. Now think who you want to vote for in 2024.

On the college front, we really need to scrutinize college tuition. I’ll bet there is very little understanding among the regents and president of how money is really spent.

Also, hopefully this idea that every well paying job requires a college degree needs to be addressed as well. Vocational education needs to be elevated as a viable path and not some second rate one.

I wish someone would run on a platform to force administrative cuts and tuition reductions at colleges in exchange for continuing to receive Federal research funding/access to student loans for their schools.

Good luck with that. A university is a complex service business you can't run without competent administrators and staff.

Universities ran just fine 30 or 40 years ago, on a fraction of their current budgets (inflation adjusted). Cut the loan gravy train and they’ll readjust without a problem.

Yep. You don’t need luxury suites for teenagers. You also don’t need the administrative bloat. Get back to focusing on teaching. Other than salaries of the (adjunct) professors, why should the cost of a liberal arts degree wildly exceed inflation? Target their tax exempt status too if they don’t bring the costs down.

We get it; you want socialism. Hard pass.

And this is why Republicans are having a really difficult time making inroads with Millennials and Gen Z. Higher ed reform, minimum wage increases, and housing reform are now "socialism" to braindead GOPers.
"We don't want socialism. We just want the government to take more money from other people and pay for the stuff we want!" - You

That's .... not socialism.

Again, it's no wonder why people with critical thinking skills don't take Republicans seriously.
