Biden as defender of “freedom” - how do we think this will go?

Anonymous
Sounds like MAGA is upset Biden and Dems are reclaiming The word Freedom. For too long, Democrats seeded “freedom” to the right. No more. We love our country and our freedoms, while we see MAGA Republicans work recklessly to try to take them away from us.

Freedom to speak as one likes and not be expelled from the legislature
Freedom to not be indoctrinated into Christian fundamentalist culture at school

I can keep going

Freedom to kill a heartbeat
Freedom to put sexual books in child classrooms talking about blowjobs and other acts
Freedom to ignore rules and laws and get away with it
Freedom to lack the moral courage in everyday life and appreciate others

Freedom to tell people, "Hush up, boy"

So, you're all for "freedom", except for the things you personally don't like. Got it.

Freedom from taxes is the most important. The revolution was fought over a minuscule fraction of today’s taxes. It’s stealing peoples time on earth by the state.

OK, fine, I'll stipulate that Texas is pretty bad

also saw Abbott reference the murder of some "illegal immigrants," to which I guess we could say thanks for the heads-up, "cripple"

but apart from that, I wonder if the "normal people" referenced earlier feel like the Democrats are the ones telling people they can think what they like, do what they like (as long as not harming others and yes, I know abortion is a glaring exception), speak their mind, and protect their families? because these are all things that the "normal people" I've been around consider important freedoms - not the "freedom" to make $15 an hour mopping floors

it's hard to filter out all the stupidity on the Internet but my impression, at a very high level, is that one party spends a lot more effort than the other these days on enforcing social conformity, and it's not the Republicans - and I'm not a Republican, and never voted for one in my life - Scout's Honor! I am one of the many millions who held my nose and voted for a guy who could barely put a sentence together for the sole reason that he wasn't trying to light forest fires every single day, even if he occasionally lights some by accident

and I would hate to see the Dems F it up next summer

We have learned long ago that what the Democrats SAY and what they DO are not the same.
They can SAY they are defending freedom, but we SEE what they DO. And, it is not examples of freedom.
Biden is going with the old Obama trick.... If you say something enough, you will get some people to believe you.

Lock downs, mandates, censoring social media content, imposing fees, redistributing funds, opening borders, and placing regulatory restrictions on corporations and companies out of favor of the regime are not freedom.

It’s DeSantis who’s doing that, dear.

And restricting women's health care choices is also not freedom.

Actually, no.
He is simply having Disney abide by the same rules and laws as all other companies.

Are you? That's too bad. Playing the victim is never a good look.

So you prefer we have no roads, no ports, no air traffic control, no consumer protections, no FDA, no clean water or clean air?

are you kidding? The republicans are forcing a fundamentalist Christian society on a country that is not supposed to be of any specific religion. Talk about imposing conformity.

I get where you're coming from but there's a reason the libertarians never win any elections

+1

There is only one party that is using its perch in Government to impose their standards on to businesses and individuals.

And it isn't the democrats
