Of course it's offensive, but so is the concept of western men using a dating service to find a bride in eastern europe

Oh no! How dare men looking for an Eastern European bride! Should be illegal to bring a hot woman into US. LOL.

It’s kinda gross to marry someone that you think will be 100% dependent on you and only willing to be with you because the economic or political system back home is so unbearable. But I’m rooting for the foreign women to get their papers and leave their unattractive American husbands as soon as legally possible.

Then they bring their actual romantic interests over from their home country. It’s a common tale

So the American man gets a few years of good sex from a woman way out of his league. Win win.

I worked for a man who did this. He said he was aware it might backfire, but it was worth the risk. His hot wife is still with him 16 years later. She is way out of his league. It's not even close. But he is very smart and funny. And he made 150k a year then and took care of her while she went to school etc. They have two beautiful children and are very happy.

As long as you go into it knowing that you will not get bitter if marrying a stranger does not work out, why not? What do you have to lose?

No they aren't. Their US citizen benefits are part of the package. If they didn't have them, the foreign spouse wouldn't consider them.

Also, why do you think you'd be attractive to someone from a different country? Is your American-ness somehow super attractive, in your world view? Do you realize that a lot of people in the world despise Americans?

Seriously. You need to get out more.

I doubt OP is looking for a French bride, more likely Belarusian, North Macedonian, Moldavian... Really anyone who wold just be grateful for citizenship

It doesn't sound like you know any North Macedonians. In general, they aren't desperate for American citizenship, and are quite happy with their own country. I have no first-hand experience in Belarus or Moldova, so I can't speak for them, but at least with respect to N. Macedonia, you are way out of line.

+1.

That's like saying I took advantage of my DH when I married him because I wouldn't have married him if he made 50k a year. I wanted kids ASAP, and I was going back to grad school. I was not having kids with someone who could not pay the bills while I was in school.

This is marriage. You have to bring something to the table. If citizenship is part of it for these women, more power to them!

My parents come from two countries as far apart as it's possible to be on this planet. They met when they had no common language, religion or culture. I myself married someone from a different country than my two countries of origin. We know lots of people like us. Our kids are *very* mixed

What do you have against people of other nationalities that you imply they are second best?!?

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

You misinterpreted my OP. I did not imply that foreigners are less desirable, it’s physically going to another country to date that would make things harder. I view dating a foreign born person living in the US the same as dating a natural born citizen.

It may be an option. Just make sure you find someone who knows English, can drive, and has a certain level of resilience and a good profession that is easily converted to fit the US market. Someone not too materialistiv too

150k for a family of 4 is hardly a luxurious life style worth frequent sex with someone I don’t find attractive.

I don’t think sex with a woman who is actually in love with someone else and not attracted to you could possibly good?

That's you. For some women,, a man's physical attractiveness is low on the list if he is smart and funny. It works for them.

OP might be that lucky. He needs to decide if it's worth the risk of getting his heart broken.

I agree. But how would you know if she is in love with someone else when she is agreeing to marry you?

Dating is risky. American women also feign love in relationships sometimes( and so do men). It's very painful, but it should not stop one from putting themselves out there.

If I were OP, I'd go for it. Take the chance. She might not be in love with someone else. If she is, oh well, win some lose some.

I am an average looking woman who tall men. If I couldn't get a tall man here, I would have looked for one abroad. You weigh your needs and wants and you take risks. Such is life.

Incel women first said they were mail order brides (no such thing). Then it was, she will be bringing her bf from her country to USA. And lastly, it was she just wants her papers.

The funny thing is that I highly doubt anyone posting this nonsense has lived in any of these countries.

All three of those are the same thing? “Mail order bride” = green card marriage arranged by a black market agency so a woman can get papers (absolutely is a thing); bringing her own boyfriend after successfully securing papers, and… just wanting her papers, also means just wanting papers. Yes. Those are all entirely consistent.

Not a thing. But there is a thing called immigration laws.

I wonder where these people are getting their information? TV? Social Media? Apparently they aren't well traveled and have a typical small town America mindset.
