Unattractive American partner vs attractive foreign partner

Let's say someone is not attractive enough to get an American partner who they find attractive but can get a less desirable American partner. Should that person settle for the American or find a foreign spouse who is better looking? I used to think international dating was always a bad idea but I recently discovered that statistically these marriages are just as successful as marriages between two Americans. It's also common knowledge that being a citizen of the US or other first world country gives you an advantage in dating internationally. Why not leverage this to get the most desirable spouse? I'm not saying looks should be the only factor, but physical attraction is important.

I wouldn't limit myself to Americans, full stop. Why limit yourself? 3 out of 4 of my siblings married people from other countries. All married 20+ years. The only one who married an American is divorced. Anecdotal to be sure, but IMO there's no reason to limit yourself.

As a foreigner in a multi-national marriage, who knows lots of other international families in my little corner of Bethesda, your post just reeks of xenophobia.

My parents come from two countries as far apart as it's possible to be on this planet. They met when they had no common language, religion or culture. I myself married someone from a different country than my two countries of origin. We know lots of people like us. Our kids are *very* mixed

What do you have against people of other nationalities that you imply they are second best?!?

I doubt OP is looking for a French bride, more likely Belarusian, North Macedonian, Moldavian... Really anyone who wold just be grateful for citizenship

You misinterpreted my OP. I did not imply that foreigners are less desirable, it’s physically going to another country to date that would make things harder. I view dating a foreign born person living in the US the same as dating a natural born citizen.
