Only 3 dead kids is a success?

I'm betting these school shootings would stop then. Those guns would disappear from these households overnight. This kid is 15, there is no way he got a weapon from anyone else but one that was already in his household's possession.

Twelve months? How about life?

Smart small - work your way up.

Based on today's shooting a parent or guardian would be getting 11 years for owning the weapon in the household that precipitated this assault. Most people are terrified of just 1 year.

My sentiments exactly. If the killing of the 6-year olds didn’t change things, nothing will.

This.

This is the event that made me lose complete respect/trust/confidence in our country. Nothing this country does or doesn’t do surprises me now. Nothing.

Good point. It has to be enough to scare the hell out of people to keep guns locked away.

This is chilling! Our kids are so hyperaware that they knew that the shooter called out "Bro" that it was a trap. OMG!! I hate this country. I hate people who love guns. I hate that my kids are unsafe here. Sick. Worse than a war torn third world country.

I'm confused by the video. It seems like the kids run out the window and right back around into the school where the shooter would be. But the sheriff is there so it makes me think the shooter was not at the door at all. Unless they ran to an adjacent building which its very hard to tell not knowing the layout of the school.

I miss anything?

it's the fault of violent video games, and social liberal policies that break down the family structure, the pandemic made them stir crazy.

I'm sure there are more.

It could have been much worse. I think that's the point.

It's just sad all around.

This is actually a pretty interesting policy idea. I’d love to see it implemented.

Can we hold anyone who knew about it accountable? You know… like they do in Texas for abortion?

We have the highest gun per capita rate in the western world - most of the world, for that matter. If guns truly made us safer as the pro-gun advocates say, we should be the safest place in the world.

Instead we’re one of the most dangerous.

+1. I was young when that happened and it horrified me then. As a mother now it’s unfathomable.

Why do you think the shooter was white?

Geography, demography, and sociology make it a safe bet. Not a sure bet, but a safe bet.

Little security, parents expecting schools to handle everything... sad. Truly sad. Three unnecessarily killed.
